Topic: Longest Video Length And Biggest File size i can load into clipbank

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hey guys,

Is there a limit to the length of video i can load into clipbank or is there a max file size.

Also what format of videos work the best in clipbank.

Thanks

When it was first released it was mentioned you could even play full length feature movies with clipbank, obviously that will depend on your system, but if you look at it, you can loop a clip to run all night if you wanted.

Personally I prefer to use mpg2.

Currently some users are experiencing a blanking or greying out of the image it produces for each clipbank so you had better have a good memory for each clip or you will be flipping through each bank until you find the correct clip. Alternately until the team takes a look at the problem make your own image reference map in the meantime to sit in the folder.

If you want to have a moving logo or place your adverts (with transparency) anywhere and any size on screen instead of being stuck with just clipbank use the free Firetext plugin and use the movie/robot function, once again it is free for le and pro users and doesn't come with any annoying pop up adverts.

some of my clipbanks were gray/blank.

I look at the file in TSUNAMI-MPEG DVD Author PRO and I see the the very FIRST frame is BLACK and I remove it.
Save it and reloaded it again, and its good.

VDJ looks/loads the very first frame of the clip. Whatever it is, thats what is shows in the clibank.

I had redone alot of my clips and they all works.

Maybe VDJ should try to load anything after the first frame.

I know in Windows Exporer, its all good, but when loaded in VDJ, it's blank.

Anyway thats my findings on this problem.

A user brought this problem up back in January and after intermittent discusion over the next few weeks this was one of my replies....

Been a while since I last looked at this problem and to be honest still not able to understand what is going on with clipbank but have come up with two interesting if a bit long work arounds for it.

Ok, first off as I mentioned above I thought it may have something to do with the size of the file, the bigger the file size they seemed to show in the window, but that was blown out after a few tests, then it was file size and length of playing time for the file, another bomber.

Next I got a mpg file that played perfectly but only showed a grey window and not image, put the same file into a video converter and here's the results...

converted to avi = load file > image showed in window > played normally

converted to swf = load file > black window no image > played normally

converted avi file back to mpg = load file > image showed in window > played normally

Have I wasted my time here and someone has given the fix for this problem somewhere else and I've missed it, if so, someone please leave a link, if not has the code gone off track and is it on the repair to do list.

This is not a show breaker problem by any means just a little annoying when you quickly want to match a file to the moment in the room on screen when using clipbank.

Cheers.

NB: I've uninstalled and reloaded clipbank a few times thinking it may have been a bad download, but all came with the same results.

here's the link if you want to check it out....
