Hello,
I am in the process of buying speakers and I was recomended on buying either JBL EON speakers, Mackie speakers, or Yamaha. Any suggestions on which out of these or others are better. ??????

I know the QSC speakers are good quality but I cannot afford those.

Thank you

Assuming your going for powered and perhaps on a budget, check out the B-52's. That little system is a great start until your ready to spend more.

What is your budget?

The B-52 matrix speakers are a good start BUT there are some flaws with it. Sub is HUGE and weighs a tons. Everything is powered and runs through the sub so if something happens with it you have nothing. At least with regular powered speakers if something happens to one you still have another.

EV Live X speakers are the best for less. Not knowing your budget its hard to recommend a setup for you. You can get a system anywhere from 400.00-5000.00 but it all depends on what you want to spend or can spend.

Yahama's new DSR series is Fantastic but pricey

QSC's K series great but pricey

EV Live X series - Awesome and priced lower than others in that quality range but still more expensive than cheap speakers

JBL EON or PRX Series - Very good, Hate the look of the EON's though. Still more expensive than other options.

Budget speakers - Behringer and Harbinger (Can be very good or can be very bad, quality control is not highly known here)

My budget is about 1000.00 I am looking for a nice set up including stands and cables.

Buy 2 of these speakers. http://www.guitarcenter.com/Behringer-EUROLIVE-B215D-Active-PA-Speaker-System-105640619-i1449708.gc
Dont buy the B52 Matrix Sytem because you will always have to lug around the subwoofer even if you have a small party. Two powered speakers is good enough for most gigs from 80-100 people.

Xlr Cable. 50 feet http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=102&cp_id=10244&cs_id=1024401&p_id=4756&seq=1&format=2

Or 1/4 cable 35 feet.

Buy the Cable based on the Ouput of your mixer to the sub.

I would avoid the b52 system. sometimes you won't always need or have room for a sub. I just sold mine because it just collected dust. It did sound good though.

Yorkville are the best!

I have used JBL EON, the industry standard, have 3 pair, you can prolly get a full kit like your looking for at about 12 - 15 hundred dollars.

Try to go to your local shop and listen to all the diiff brands. JBL, Mackie, QSC, Yorkville, Yamaha, & EV are all good professional brands.

Your best bet would be powered speakers for mobility. I use my passive speakers for permanent setups.

Trust me spend the extra money now for the good stuff!
