hi guys!

which configuration should I use for converting my cd's,...???

I want to convert the songs (I often play) at 192 kbit/s and (the ones I hardly play) at 128!

So what is the best configuration when I want to save space at my harddisk?? I mean:

- Stereo
- Joint Stereo
- Variable Bitrate (further configuration)
- ...

best regards
andy

CBR stereo 192kbps at higher quality with CDex (freeware) used with the lame encoder.

Constant Bitrate, Stereo, 192Kbs, any encoder that uses the Lame engine should be fine. I would be leary of other encoders, as I've done quite a bit of listening to encoders myself. I used the use the fine Blade encoder at 256Kbs, but it was proven to me that Lame sounds better, even at 192Kbs. This is not hard to hear.
