How can I get 4 decks setup with 2 Numark V7 using one computer?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Since you only have 2 numark v7 turntables they can only control two decks you can take your mouse and click on the 3rd and 4rth deck the they should start controlling those decks but then decks one and two wont be controlled (the music will still be running on decks one and two it just wont show it cause you have selected decks 3 and 4) so then you can switch it back if you have two sets of the numark n7's which is 4 total then you should be able to but then you half to by a external sound card and plug all of them in i have been studying the ns7 and i have seen and looked at the v7 i think the v7 has some type of slave controll not really sure but the thing about the decks im almost certin about

Dj Toni,

It should work ;-)

You must only create two keyboard shortcuts and use a 4 Deck Skin.

1) Switch between Deck 1 & 3:
deck 1 select ? deck 3 select & deck 3 leftdeck : deck 1 select & deck 1 leftdeck

2) Switch between Deck 2 & 4:
deck 2 select ? deck 4 select & deck 4 rightdeck : deck 2 select & deck 2 rightdeck

Now you can control 4 Decks with two controllers. :-D

I wish it was just as simple with the Denon DN-S3700 model. But for some strange reason, these units don't seem to work with a left-right deck logic basis on VDJ. So far, I have been able to either map 1 unit to control 4 decks or 2 units to control 1 deck each. It seems it has something to do with how Denon's firmware is not being able to "tell VDJ" to assign one unit to be the left one and let the other be the right one. In fact, if you go to Config -> Mappers -> Mappers Options -> Deck Assign, you just see two identical "Denon 3700" deck assignable labels, instead of something like "Denon 3700(1) & Denon 3700(2)" labels. I hope they come with a solution to this scenario as soon as they are able to.

All in all, I love this software and am always suggesting it to other D.J. mates ;)

Cheers, Alex.

how would pne set up 4 track control with 4 physical v7s and a digital mixer?....most of the digital mixers use a s/pdif input connection and the v7 doesent have that? Id prefer 4 separate decks

The only way right now to make the DN-S3700s to work as a pair on a 4 deck skin is to map the eject button as: holding 1000ms ? play ? nothing : unload : invert_controllers & refresh_controller "S1200".

I just reread your post. With the script above you can cycle thru the 4 decks in pairs, which is helpful than having to control only one deck at a time with two units.

The EJECT button of the S3700 should already be mapped to toggle between the decks with a mapping similar to the above (NOTE: In the above, "S1200" is incorrect - It should be "S3700")

Thank you for the correction. I suggested this script just in case he did not figure out another way to map it on his "S3700s".

The S3700s have a lot similarities with the smaller S1200s which has no real spinning turntables.

hi

can i connect two V7s to same computer via 2 separate USB cables....i mean independently ....no linking.....so i think its easy to play 4 decks....
