Topic: Any new VDJ7 Setup videos yet?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Just wanted to know if anyone made any tutorial videos of setting up VDJ7 in 4-deck mode?

Just because I want to set up two turntables and leave the other two open for just laptop play.

later.

I managed to get that much working. I used the Advanced Sound Config...I'll use my setup as an example.

Inputs:
Timecode 1 - Audio4DJ (ASIO) - Input 1&2
Timecode 2 - Audio4DJ (ASIO) - Input 3&4

Outputs:
Deck 1 - Audio4DJ (ASIO) - Output 1&2
Deck 2 - Audio4DJ (ASIO) - Output 3&4
Deck 3 - Conexant HD Output - Output 1&2
Deck 4 - Conexant HD Output - Output 1&2

Does that help you any?

Did this with my phone, lmao!! But done this way you could use timecodes on all 4 deck,

What was that script you mapped? I couldn't quite hear it...

You said "deck 1 timecode activate"????

EDIT: Or is it "deck 1 timecode_active"??? Man I wish I was in front of my setup right now to try this out.

For the left deck "deck 1 timecode_active & deck 3 timecode_active" and for the Right deck "deck 2 timecode_active & deck 4 timecode_active",

That what I use and I can switch control between the decks.

Hope that helps

Thanks...I will try this when I get home. I also did not think about the RCA splitters. I am debating on whether I want to run the 4 decks through 2 channels, or split them into 4 channels...I have my DDM mapped so that my volume and eq sliders match the 4 decks on the screen, but it only outputs to the mixer channels 1 & 2.

Thats the same problem I had and the splitters is what did it. Plus you can still route them to match your screen.

Huey your code "deck 1 timecode_active & deck 3 timecode_active" works but one thing I noticed when using it is that when switching back from deck 3 or 4 to 1 or 2 I have to hit the button twice to get the timcode to reactivate on the original deck. Any thoughts on a way around this? Thanks bro!

try this it will work........
"deck 1 timecode_active & deck 3 timecode_active & deck 1 timecode_active" and "deck 2 timecode_active & deck 4 timecode_active & deck 2 timecode_active"

Enjoy

genius thanks bro you are a life saver!

Worked like a charm...Probably not the most ideal way to run this setup, but it works nicely for my needs. Thanks a bunch for everything, from the mapping to the splitter idea. Just spent $50 on a powered USB hub and 4 splitters, and am VERY pleased....I prolly won't be back for another week now....Much fun to be had.

And while it's on my mind, what skin is that you are using?
