Topic: RMX with ESI MAYA 44 upgrade help please

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi all,

I recently decided to improve the sound quality of my mixes since I have owned the RMX for over 2 or 3 years now. After much research the ESI MAYA 44 came up trumps for price and amazing reviews everywhere I looked… yet to find a poor one.

I need help though as through reading it does not look that straight forwards to use the RMX as a controller only and the Maya for the sound and was wondering if anyone had any set-up tips on VDJ pro I can have when I receive it tomorrow.

Any help much appreciated on the settings for VDJ Pro to use the new soundcard – normal set-up with the RMX 2 channels and Headphones for Cueing.

Many thx in advance.

Ben.

Setup is not that much different. Simply replace the Rmx in the soundcard configuration:

- Input : None

- Output(s): Headphone > Master Chan1/2 / headphone Chan3/4

-Soundcard: ASIO > Maya

Thank you DJ Phatso,

I have received my ESI MAYA today and installed it without any problems.

However when i open RMX - and set-up as requested and also choose ASIO drivers through the MAYA sounds and controls work fine however i am having difficulties with the headphones and Cuieng

The HeadP are plugged in the 3.5mm jack in the soundcard but cannot CUE with the RMX.

DO i need to plug the headphones to the RCAs output channel 3/4 in order to CUE? or is there a way to use the headphone jack from the external soundboard?

Many thx

Hmmmm? thank you but i am confised lol..

You are selecting the MAYA as a soundcard, but you are still trying use the headphone output of the Rmx.

Think about it for a second...How is VDJ suppose to make this happen ?

You'll have to connect your headphone to the headphone connector of the MAYA. Wost case, you'll have to reverse the configuration in VDJ to Master Chan3/4 / headphone Chan1/2.

I have used a Maya 44 with a Total Control, you have to hook the headphones up to the RCA jacks of the Maya not the headphone jack.
