Topic: Trying to get my Rane SL-3 to work in Virtual DJ...help..

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi,

I have Rane SL-3 Scratch Live and I've been able to get my turntable signals to work in their software, but I tried to get it
to work in Virtual DJ's software, and I get no signals (green circles)

Here is where some of my problems may lie:

1) When opening Virtual DJ and going into settings and looking at where the soundcard is selected, there is only 'ASIO' available,
and after installing Rane's drivers, I would've expected to see Rane's soundcard as an option!? Now, if you go to the menu to the right
of that, there is another smaller menu where it allows you to select the soundcard type, and there is an 'SL 1' in there, which I thought
was strange since I bought the SL 3. This wasn't in there before either (before I bought my Rane stuff) There is also a TTM thingy in there and an MP 4, as well as the default ASIO option.

2) When going in to try and calibrate for the signals, I pretty much tried every vinyl option in the vinyl type drop down, obviously trying all the Serato options to hope for the best. Which Serato option am I supposed to choose? Here's what they give me available: Serato Vinyl CV-02A/B, and then an additional 2 that are 'new beta engine'. Again, I tried all these without being able to get a signal at all.

So, those are some of the reasons why I might be having trouble. Any ideas? Like I said, when I open up the ScratchLive program, I get signals in seconds no problem, so my hardware is obviously wired up right. I just need to figure out why Virtual DJ isn't recognizing it?!?!?!

Oh, phooey! That sucks. Oh well, at least it will come out though.

What's a good link online to continue to check on the progress of them updating the ASIO compatibility?
Is there a link online that would say when it's released?

Thanks

No, It's a secret by Rane

My friend bought the SL-3 thinking it would work with vdj, he ended up trading it with another dj for his SL-1 box and he's now a very happy video dJ.
