Topic: Please I need help with hercules dj console mk4 !!! - Page: 1

Hello and thank everyone in advance for all the help they lend, well and now to the point, I gained a new MK4 Hercules and plug the PC does not recognize it only gives the message "Found New Hardware USB Device", I nstaldo all hercules drivers and nothing comes out just why it is an unknown usb device, mepodreis lend a hand or say where I can find a solution, though, because the service technician does not respond to my questions.

I've done and nothing, does not even turn on the light that illuminates the logo in the center console, not to do I am desperate ...
 
What is your computers specification?
 
If the Hercules logo does not lit up after connections ( give it 10 sec), then there is not enough power sent to the USB connection.

- Try another USB port
- Try another USB cable
- if possible, try the console on another computer

IF you get the same results, the console Is probably defective and should get replaced.
 
If the above recommendations don't work, Buy a Powered USB HUB at Radio Shack.

Do a complete uninstall and reinstall. Theres probably a corrupted drive in your system

1) uninstall program

2) verify that there is no driver packs left in system
a) Right click on start > explore > go to the c: drive > program files > look for any Hercules folder / files > delete if present

3) reboot system

4) reinstall program and drivers and follow prompts to plug all new Hercules devices in ports
 
hello can any 1 help iv justed got hercules mk4 but now iv set it up the music keeps skipping what am 1 do wrong i am a novice with vdj
 
I read that some other people posted about this same problem, but I didn't see any responses. I bought the Hercules MK4 last month and for the most part havent had any horrible problems with it. A couple of things that are going on though, 1. when using the jog wheels to scratch, sometimes there is a delay from when I actually turn the wheel and when the sound actually begins. And 2. at various times throughout the evening during sets, the mp3 will skip like a scratched cd. Any advice on how to fix these problems would be greatly apprectiated. Thanks!
 
we can definitely help you guys or girls but we need some info .....

what is your Operating System (OS) ?

How much memory (Ram) ?

What version of VDJ are you using ?


the skipping is a common problem and is not caused by VDJ or your controller ......


if you were to change controllers or DJ software you will still have the skips ........


fortunately there are a number of well known optimizations for computers that you can do,

that are free .......your computer itself is the problem ....even if it's brand new
 
ok guys i need some serious help.

i have been using virtual dj basic for almost a year now just with the keyboard and mouse. i just bought this hercules mk4 mixer and im having some problems:

1. it says i need to download a separate virtual dj for it, and i dont know how to log my other one in so i can have all the virtual dj basic features, it only gives me a very limited set of functions.

i decided to clock on the "try pro version" button that was there so i could see the difference, and it gives me pretty much the same functions i am used to with basic, do i really have to upgrade to the pro version to use the mk4??

2. MASSIVE lag when djing with this. pretty much every function that the mk4 gives is delayed when i press it. when i press play a song on deck a while deck b is playing, it wont start it until like 4-6 seconds later. wtf???

3. i have logitech speakers connected to my computer and when i am in the virtual dj for the device, it doesnt give me the option to change the sound to my speakers.

idk what to do and its pretty annoying so far, for the 5 hours that ive had this thing. any help??
 
Sorry, VirtualDJ Basic does not support any MIDI controllers such as the MK4 - It is for mixing using your mouse and keyboard only, as clearly stated on the purchase page:

To use the MK4, you will either need to use the limited edition (LE) that comes with it or upgrade to the full VirtualDJ Professional: http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

The 'lag' that you are experiencing may be due to performance and/or configuration problems. Please see http://www.virtualdj.com/homepage/jpboggis/blogs/4094/Common_performance_issues_and_solutions.html for a list of common problems and their solutions.

Also, make sure that you have the latest DJ Console firmware http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/Common_Device_Drivers.html and VirtualDJ Console Edition installed (You will need to register the LE version to download this from http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html )

The DJ Console Edition can only be used with the sound card in the MK4 - You will need to connect your speakers to the back of the console or run a suitable cable (2x RCA to 3.5" jack) to the line in of your computer's sound card. VirtualDJ Pro will allow you to use any sound card of your own choice.
 
Over 24 hours of uninstalling re-installing and going through these forums... I'm doing the deep breathing.

Windows 7 64 bit, 4 gb RAM, core duo2 2.26Ghz, Vitual DJ basic, Hercules MK4.

I bought the MK4 about 3 weeks ago and installed on this system with the VDJ limited bundle. Everything worked perfectly straight out of the box and I've used it every day. Until.... 2 days ago I bought VDJ Basic and installed it. First I got the standard ASIO driver error so I re-installed the Hercules drivers. Eventually i managed to access the ASIO panel from within VDJ and set it to external mixer. The logo light on the herc is lit, so it's getting power, but it doesn't function as a remote controller. one of the blue lights are on. It does nothing when I load a track from within VDJ. I can control VDJ from my keyboard but not through the Herc. It's working as a soundcard and I can monitor the playing tracks through outputs 1-2 on the back of the Herc but not through the headphone monitor at the front. I just re-installed VDJ v6.1.2. and now I can no longer access the ASIO control panel through VDJ. I can access it through the Herc console panel.

It's... driving me...NUTS!

I have a copy of DJ Pro, and also used the Hercules Mk4 DJ console last night. As it was my first proper gig, it was a bit annoying to find that with every 10 minutes or so of playing music, the sound just stopped, so I had to go through restarting the whole program as well as swapping between Itunes. When I have used this prior just practicing and making some other smaller mixes, it has been fine. Now when I use it like this, it wouldn't work properly.

I managed to track the source down to the lead or the unit, because everything else was working fine.

Please can you advise.

If the MK4 is not shown in the list, then the version that you are using may be too old and does not support the MK4.

You will need to upgrade to the latest version of the software, which is now v7.0 - To do this, register your serial number in your profile http://www.virtualdj.com/users/edit.html and then go to the Download Center: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

Otherwise, you will need to use your free VirtualDJ LE that came with the console or purchase VirtualDJ Pro from http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html

If you have just upgraded to the full VirtualDJ Pro after first trying VirtualDJ Home FREE, please ensure that you are clicking on the correct icon for VirtualDJ Pro.

If you have just purchased VirtualDJ Pro, but have not downloaded and installed it yet, please go to the Download Center to do so: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/updates.html

If you are still running the Home FREE version, then the 10 minute limit for external controllers will still apply.
