I recently stumbled across this video on youtube (obviously made for promotional purposes) and I was shocked to notice that many viewers gave positive comments and such when it was CLEAR that the VMS4 wasnt even being used during the gig. I mean it was OBVIOUS I cant believe people fell for it. Don't get me wrong I'm a big fan of the product and American Audio but I mean really this was ridiculous. I made a comment detailing the video's non-authenticity and it was promptly removed (like within 2 mins), and a few other comments were removed as well as someone who saw my comment in the few mins it was up messaged me and said 3 other guys had their comments deleted as well, commenting on the same issue.
Ok...firstly here is the link to the video.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPdruy9zaUM
Now. It is clear that that there are 2 CDJs surrounding the VMS4...I dont think they were really trying to hide that...but the CDJ on the right was playing throughout the video and at first I thought ok they may have been using the VMS4 as a mixer for the 2 CDJs but near the end of the video the VMS4's VU meter was clearly dead while a CDJ was still playing, and both volume faders for that side were up.
Also at 1:15 I don't thin the software on the computer screen was VDJ...looks more like Serato I may be wrong tho.
Biggest giveaway of all though was that no songs were ever played thru VDJ in the whole video as the waveforms were stationary for the entirety of the video or 'gig' and the tracks loaded on both decks were the same ones loaded in throughout the entire video.
Now again I state that I am a big fan of this product but if companies want to make promo vids for their products at least make them SOMEWHAT real...or make them look real at least. Its obvious that the dj (whoever he is) was just asked to fool around with it b4 the gig for a while (maybe even one or two times during the gig too, not audibly of course) and leave it there during the gig to make it look like it was being used for it. They shudnt have lied :( just tell us the truth! Lol I could be wrong though..he may have used it in conjunction with the 2 CDJs but I doubt it, could be tho :|
Anywho, just something I thought I should share with you guys.
Their earlier promo vid was great though I must say: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZx_Xx45NlQ
First post XD - I apologize for the length lol.

He had a gig that day and while he was getting ready to leave his house, the VMS4 came in and thats why he had it connected next to the CDJ's. @ 1 :15 it looks like serato itch but, Itch's skin doesnt open up to dj mode if you dont have the right controller.

Since 'nothing' has been released to support the VMS4 - he would only be able to use the SimpleMIDI mapper and be very limited in what he would be able to map for the unit.
And if you look close at 1:15 that is a second monitor screen for a second computer - the laptop connected to the VMS4 is directly above his left hand, which you can not see the screen of from that angle.
But since you must see a pic or video to believe ---

I got my VMS4 on RSVP @ Guitar Center. If for some reason I\'m not happy with it, I can return it within 90 days. What do I have to lose? I know that there will always be bugs in everythying. This MIDI looks very solid, and know it will be a flagship for American Audio.

What's worse is that the guy actually works for American Audio as southern sales manager in the UK!
I'd been trying for some time to find out from him about the UK release date, but had ZERO replies.
I actually found out more from Brian Dowdle in the US, as he posted some info on their forum.
Anyway, my VMS4 should be here tomorrow. Hopefully I won't need any support!

@ DJAdvise
When I spoke with Guitar Center's national call center they said they have no immediate plans to stock the VMS4. They have not made any orders for the unit and it was not on their radar. They didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about the VMS4, I had to direct them to the website. I'm afraid you may be waiting awhile if you wait for GC.
With this in mind I contacted American Audio directly and worked backwards from there. I have a local contractor working on this for me now. She works with AmericanDJ on the lighting side as a local consultant here in Little Rock. She couldn't promise any dates yet but did quote me a price of $459 US. Hopefully I'll know something this afternoon.

got my vms4 off ebay. it arrived this past thursday 8/26/10. i noticed the crossfader moving on screen in that video . this is not possible. i thought mine was damaged until i actually read the manual. cross fades and eq changes do not show on screen because the sound is from the vms4 not the software. im used to it now

The crossfader in the video is the video crossfader and not the audio crossfader.

Has there been any feedback whether or not AA will address the problems?
Posted Sun 29 Aug 10 @ 8:53 pm
There is an entire thread in the Hardware forum with a link to AA's forums as well.
And American Audio has addressed the initial release issues.

I picked my VMS4 up from my local guitar center this past Monday. I had looked for them online everywhere and nobody had them. I could not believe my eyes when they had it in stock!!
