Topic: Just bought VIRTUAL DJ 6 PRO =] I have a few questions...

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

AT times, I have a few hiccups/skips in the software (standalone, without my Hercules RMX or turntables)...does this have to do with latency? What are the best settings to use? Have you guys ever had any of these problems? Also, I read a great detailed guide on how to set up my timecodes, but what settings should I use specifically for my Hercules RMX to get the best of it as an interface for my timecodes?

have you set your audio decoder to quicktime for mac on vdj.also check out hardware section for set up guides.

I did the quicktime thing, and it did wonders...I haven't had any skips since...Dude thank you so much, you've helped me a lot...

I was talking with a few DJs during my gig Tuesday, and some were giving me props but some were saying that I wasted money and should've saved up for Serato...they wanted to shut me down so bad due to the fact I was using Vurtual DJ...the point is that I had the crowd rockin', and I'm actually doing the next gig over this DJ who uses Serato and has done way more big venues than me. They said cuz my music caters more to the crowd -- & while the other DJ may have a better killset because he has 10 years experience on me, he has a huge ego and plays skilled mixes (that no one cares about). A big part is the music you play. You can be skilled all you want, but if you dont play music people want no on ewill care...

as long as you keep the crowd happy job done.always listen to other djs if you can take something good from it.have you checked out hercules for tips on set up of laptop for best performance.seriously though with vdjs updates crashes happen far less i havent had one in a long time.im no expert as others will tell you lllooolll but glad it helped feel good now.happy spinning
