The only thing that doesn't seem to be midi is the
MIC/AUX switch
and the Gain, Bass,& Treble KNOBS associated with it.

They work without the program running.

Which doesn't seem to be midi because that area was designed for when one dj laptop wants to switch to another dj laptop without sound interruption. If it were midi and ran through the program you wouldn't be able to talk or hear anything through the AUX or MIC inputs once you unplugged the USB from the first laptop switching to the next one. It would defeat its purpose.

Next posts are the Midi Trace Logs :)

OK, I am at a loss. Why do you guys have such a hardon for this controller? Especially the guy planning on doing mostly video; What possible advantage could this controller offer you? It has no displays on it whatsoever to let you know at a glance what is loaded or where a track is time wise. You can't independently mix audio and video with it since it has no video crossfader. You will only be able to link or mouse it with the laptop unless you do some funky button assignment and remove a function from the NS7. The mixer is a bit limited. Only has one mic input and that channel is shared with aux input as well. I personally run a Numark DMC2 (has video crossfader too!) which works fantastic BTW, Native Instruments Audio 8 DJ sound card, Denon DNX500 mixer all with an Odyssey rack. With all that I'd still have 3-400 left over from the price of the NS7. I have way more flexibility IMO. Sorry if I offended anyone who owns the NS7, but, I don't see the point of a sound card/mixer with fake spinning turntables. To each their own I guess, but, man do you pay for it!

" It has no displays on it whatsoever to let you know at a glance what is loaded or where a track is time wise."

Answer:
That's what the laptop screen is for everything is there if you use the right skin and there are VIDEO CUE screens in virtual as well. Plus if all that was built on the NS7 it would cost more like 4 to 5 thousand dollars. The point here is to be cost effective and a great controller. If the program does all that or it can be implemented later to it's SERATO ITCH software what would be the point? Less people would buy it as they wouldn't be able to afford one

" You can't independently mix audio and video with it since it has no video crossfader."

Answer:
Why would you want it independently if you're mixing MUSIC VIDEOS??? The point is to LINK THEM (Make one crossfader audio and video LINKED together) when you're mixing so the VIDEO goes with the AUDIO. When you're cutting and scracthing AUDIO then the VIDEO does it too. works GREAT with SERATOs Video Mixer. Can't really cut and scratch with a DMC2 as it doesn't even have a crossfader it has 4 buttons instead, one goes left for video another goes left for audio, then another goes right for Video and another button goes right for audio. BTW I own a DMC2

"fake spinning turntables."

Answer: It's actual vinyl platters that you touch and yes they come off and custom ones can be placed on, real motors with adjustable torque

Please don't comment anymore in this topic with useless arguments UNLESS you are posting useful info on how to make an NS7 work with VDJ6. NOT TO BE RUDE or OFFEND YOU! but that's what this topic is about. There are plently other topics where you can tell everyone that spent 1,300 dollars how stupid they are as most of us here like me OWN ONE! or PLAN TO BUY ONE.

If you don't care about it or at least interested in it then why read topics and comment on it? I'm just saying..... Well, have a good day.

THANKS!

OK my last post here I promise. I'll accept your viewpoints on the other things there except for the always linked crossfaders. if you are beat mixing the audio tracks of the 2 videos you don't want your second video coming onto the screen until you are done transitioning the audio. I use my mixer to mix all my audio not VDJ. So what I'm saying is that you can't do this with the NS7 easily. Your video will always come in with the audio because it is linked. You can hold the two video crossfader buttons together on the DMC2 and it will cut btw. ;) I don't use the audio crossfader on it just video.

That is a matter of preference then. All you have to do is set a keyboard button to LINK/UNLINK VIDEO. So when you want it for example press L, when you don't want it hit L again. Once you assign it of course. Seratos Rane TTM 57SL Mixer board doesn't even have separate video crossfader it only has one which is linked and from what I remember can be unlinked. I cannot see the problem just a preference be realistic here even SERATOS mixer doesn't have an extra crossfader just for video. Nor does the Hercules RMX nor any real USB Mixer Board.

Can we end this now as this will go on forever? No need to respond, THANKS!

MIDI TRACE Logs (c) Atomix Productions - END

I Believe thats all the midi info. As with the Mic/AUX input switch and the Gain, Bass and treble associated with it had no midi info even with Midi Trace. So I have come to the conclusion that it doesn't contain any as it is independent as I first discovered for keeping the input useable while switching laptops (USB cable.)

Please let me know if I need to redo any of these codes with different movements. THANKS

Seemed small on my PC as maybe I have my browser view zoomed out or something. Thanks for the heads UP J/K with the large font. LOL J/K ;)
