That's right peeps - we've just launched a new service, which allows customers to buy all our Classics and monthly titles (from January 2009) on DVD in high quality MPEG2 format. No more tiresome ripping and renaming:-)

FOR THE PEOPLE FROM MIXMASH !!!

I'm buying every month the mixmash pop dvd with pain in my heart.
This because it's based on the UK charts.
In our country we have normally about 6 or 7 UK hits in our charts per month.
This means that I pay 60 euro for 6 vids.
In the Netherlands we don't have something else.

So if you want more people in another country that will buy Mixmash, maybe an idea to put vids on it from the country itself.

Hi Anthony,

I understand what you're saying but it's all down to licensing. At the moment we don't have permission from Dutch record labels to release their content... We have DVDs specifically for France, Italy and Spain so far and I think this is a good start... I'm also sure that some of the videos on the Pop DVD although not hits in your country at the time might become hits later.

If you have any suggestions for us please email me at mark@mixmash.com.

Thanks

Mark,

Thanks for your reply.
I believe you immediatly.
Hopefully the downloadservice will also be available in our country.
The Mixmash dvd's are great.
Promo Only started with the logo PO in the vid that doesn't dissapear.
Hopefully Mixmash won't follow because I really don't like it and also other dj's I spoke.

So as A Canadian can I download from mixmash as well?

Hi Guys,

Just to make it clear - the MPEGs come on a DVD - this is not a download service.

Anthony - we have no plans to change our very unobtrusive watermark, which we have to put on the video so as to enable us to identify the content's source and so help protect it for the copyright owners.

Marcel - unfortunately our service is only available to customers in Europe. Maybe you know someone in Europe?

Cheers,

Mark

Mark,

Great news !!!

Thanks for your answer.

Anthony, Promoonly's logo is now intermittent, they changed the format due to many customer complaints me being one of them.

Promoonly (USA) also started making their DVD's available in Mpeg 2 format with the files named a few months ago.
The problem IS P.O. doesn't split the usually HIGHLY ANNOYING intros so you get all the junk in the trunk. Yes I know you can queue past the "junk" but I don't need extra clutter chomping away at my hard drives. So I don't use the new format.

I can't say what MIXMASH is doing, perhaps they were a little smarter than P.O. in this regard.

Just say NO to junk in the trunk, my ass is big enough at this point in my life.

Renee,

You've got humor, I like that.
But coming back on your story, thanks for your answer and good to hear that PO don't use the icon in the whole vid.
We'll see who is smarter but at this moment I say that both are equal if we talk about the hottest vids they have.

Greetings,

Dj Anthony

In my experience, Mixmash usually cut out the annoying intros. For anyone on the video side i also highly recommend TmpGenc 4 Express, it's simple to use, allows cutting and editing, can change to almost any format and it's fast, I use it pretty regularly and consider it a must have tool in my video armoury.

With regards to Mixmash, I find their stuff is second to non, unobtrusive watermarks, quality is spot on and customer service is superb. In fact probably the most approachable video company out there.
