Does the use of differernt skins effect performance, bugs etc.? I am new to VirtualDJ but I dont want to use the default skin. However,I am having some issues with the program.

I appreciate any responses.

No problem.
You can use your prefered skin; it doesn't affect any performance.

Some skins enhance the program supporting features that others don't see.
My favorite is the Pioneer cdj700 blue.

I disagree! The more complicated the skin the more VDJ slows down. Skins with more animation are less responsive.

In fact, I have noticed that the higher color depth settings of windows make a difference. When Is set it to 256 colors it is FAST but looks like crap (I am referring to using the advanced skin included with VDJ)

my system uses a built in video controller (laptop) but I have noticed this with desktops too

I have seen some poorly written skins crash VDJ

I tried all available skins and never noticed any speed problem.
And I use a slow PC (1.1Ghz with 512SDRam). I tried with a Geforce 2GTS and a Geforce 6MX.

I work in 1024*768 in high depth.

I wasn't implying that certain skins worked better or faster than others.
What I meant is that some skins offer more features than say the default skin.

Although I have not noticed a speed difference personally.
