they're quite good, ive heard maybe a few complains of a sticky cd drive but if you use TCCDs youll be fine.

very good vinyl feel

And marcola, u also need to upgrade to VDJ pro in order to use them;)

Which of course u do have discount for it;)

They are brilliant decks but very unreliable. Expect to carry a replacement tray or have some other form of backup device for when they do one of these...

(a) loops about 1 sec of playback and doesnt stop - this happens when the cd tray wears out - I havent narrowed down the exact problem but I have seven old trays I can use to figure it out. My feeling is its a laser issue - possibly alignment as they couldnt possibly wear out that quickly. I will have a go at them one day and sort out what the issue is but they are so intermittent when they start dying - might only loop once in three gigs, but thats more than enough - time for a new cd tray.

(b) Just ejects the cd - wont read it. Usually a problem with the board that interprets the cd player laser info. Not tooo expensive to replace but often they dont need replacing at all and it is the badly soldered and fixed earth lead for this board that is the problem. Shop usually replaces it which helps for a while until the earth craps out again. I have about $1000 worth of repair bills for this before I took it apart and figured out what the problem was myself.

Using it for timecode cd helps as there isnt cds going in and out all the time but they will still shit themselves - I did get about twelve months out of the last one though - a new record ;)

If you buy them, pull the tops off and fix all the earths down properly and hot glue all the earth leads so they cant move anywhere. I will do a utube vid next time I have to pull mine apart.

I love them but I wouldnt buy them if I wasnt a techy. If anyone can find me a service manual, it would make life a lot easier - might even open my own repair service then - hehe ;)

We had them at one club and they lasted one week. We all hated them, the layout, they skipped, terrible for user friendliness. That was the opinion of four different dj's in one post-lol

I think the CDX's are sensitive to dust. I opened two of them up to do a full tray compartment cleaning and they worked flawless. 6 months later, one of them was giving problems again reading a cd. I know you can firmware update them and also calibrate them to. The scratching on the is really good..
