Topic: Changing Skin Characteristics

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am using Mix Station SV 04 V2.06. I would like to add my DJ name to it somewhere. How is that possible?

Great skin by the way...

Edit the bmp image (in zip file) and add your name or logo...

it might be that you've added it UNDER another part of an overlaid image..

therfore the other image is simply sitting above your grpahic

double check where it is ;)

I forgot all about changing the skin until today. I still to change the bitmap image in the zip file. But when I open VDJ and activate the skin, nothing has changed. I am trying to add my DJ name to the skin and make some minor cosmetic changes. If anyone has a clue then let me know.

Be REALLY sure the pic you changed is updated in the zip file...

I changed the skin in the zip file but everytime I save it, it shows that it is being saved. But once I open the skin up nothing has changed.

"it" (your zip software) probably saves the file in a temporary location. You have not to only save the bmp, but to re-do the zip too I apologize.

What I suggest to you : extract the bmp file to the location you're sure to find out, and then modify here the file. When the file is ready, add it again to the zip archive. It should work better...

I just did it and when I opened up VDJ it's default skin came up. When I try to activate the skin an error message says invalid skin file error in line 0 of the xml.

Did you change a part of the xml too?
Have you included the xml file? If you created a new archive

This error mostly happens when a sign " is missing somewhere in the xml...

once you change the bmp, you must ad the new saved image to your zip archive. Since it still must have the exact name, you should be prompted to overwrite the existing file.

Give me the skin name and the logo you want... I can make it to you and send me your email too to send the new zip file again there... --@--.-- send me there

please unzip the skin in some directory (both xml and bmp file),
edit the bmp file, save it and then pack the two files in the directory to a zipfile.

This worked for me

when you save the bmp, look that you save it as an bmp and not a jpeg.
i think that the skin wasn't working because there was no bmp in the zipfile anymore..

good luck..
