 autoBPMMatch

Q: Every time I load a song, VirtualDJ keeps changing the pitch/BPM to match the other deck. I prefer to manually beat match my songs. How do I stop it doing this?

If you find that VirtualDJ keeps trying to automatically sync your songs when loading a track to a deck or pressing play then you likely have a smart feature enabled. There are several smart features in the software that can be the cause of this. Please check the following:

    autoBPMMatch
Automatic BPM matching is set to smart (default setting) and will match the BPM of the tracks in both decks providing there is a strong, steady beat. To disable this go to Settings Options and search for the setting in the search bar. Set the value to no to disable this feature.

    Smart Play
If Smart Play is on, the songs will beat match to the nearest beat providing that they are in the same pitch range. This feature can be toggled on and off in the Deck Options button next to the transport controls in the default skin. It can also be turned on and off in Settings Options by searching for smartPlay

    Beatlock
If Beatlock is on, the BPM of the tracks will remain locked together. The tracks will remain in sync even if the pitch on one deck is changed. This feature can be toggled on and off (per deck) in the Scratch Panel in the mixer section of the default interface.

    Pitch Lock
If Pitch Lock is on, moving the pitch slider on one deck will equally move the pitch on all other decks. If the songs were beat matched before locking the pitch they will remain matched while making a pitch adjustment. To enable/disable this go to Settings Options and search for the pitchLock in the search bar. Set the value to yes to enable or no to disable this feature.

Note: Not all Options are displayed in Settings by default. To see all settings make sure Show Advanced Options is checked in the upper right corner of the Options Menu.
