Topic: How To Configure VDJ For Use With Serato SL1?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Okay guys I must not be using the right keywords with the search so please bare with me...

Looks like ny club might be getting the Serato SL1 soundcard and they have VDJ. How do we configure VDJ to use the SL1 card. We will be using the CDJ 1000s with VDJ timecode cds.

I'm trying it with my laptop and having weird issues like the right deck record playing when my timecode cd is not.

Thanks for the replies and the "how to".

strange...I was somehow able to get it working including looping, etc.

My club has the numark DMC2 but after 4 months of use 4 nights a week the buttons started crapping out and besides the 3 other djs prefer playing off cds so the timecode option is the way to go for us.

It's pretty easy, its all in the timcode settings bit really just need to make sure your silence bar is set high enough in advanced settings so that your deck does not move from background noise on the line. aside from that make sure you have good quality burn of your timecode cd's (i would suggest not burning above 24x using cdj 1000's and also not using mp3 format discs).

ive sen a lot of sl1 box's display a logo in the time code display during play (looks a bit like the searto logo) raising the silence level is the best way to elliminate this as previously suggested
