finally got it to work

instructions on how to do it are here
http://www.numark.com/stuff/contentmgr/files/20/374d00b4f68ea82b710d8a9cc9bb01f8/file/totalcontrol_firmware_update_instructions.pdf

Disconnect any usb interface before to start the update

1) Download the .zip file containing the latest firmware from http://www.numark.com/stuff/contentmgr/files/20/51bb879b572f44112f0108a21f1445ec/file/totalcontrol_v1_02.zip and extract its contents.

2) Make sure the Total Control is disconnected from your computer.

3) Hold down the PLAY/STUTTER button of the left deck and the CUE button of the right deck simultaneously
connecting the Total Control to your computer. The LEDs next to the mid-range EQ knobs will light up.
Note: If the LEDs next to the treble and mid-range EQ knobs light up, this means there is no firmware
the Total Control. Proceed to Step 4.

4) Press the two mid-range EQ knobs simultaneously. The LEDs should now be unlit, and after a few seconds, ON/OFF button on both decks should be lit.

5) Open sysexbox.exe -> http://miostools.midibox.org/sysexbox_18f_v1_1c.zip
select "Usb Speakers" in "midi IN & OUT port"
"Open Sysex file"
"Send Sysex"

The buttons in the EFFECT sections and SAMPLE sections will flicker as the file uploads.
When it is finished, the PLAY buttons in the SAMPLE and the LEDs next to the mid-range EQ knobs will light up.

6) Press the two mid-range EQ knobs simultaneously. All buttons and LEDs should now be unlit.

7) Disconnect and reconnect the Total Control to your computer to begin using it with the new firmware.

cheers,
matt

HELP!!!

I've ran through this perfectly twice now and my VDJ has stopped working with total control.
Please can someone post the old firmware up asap!

If you haven't done this update yet I think you can help me out by loading the sysexbox and doing a sysex dump of the old version.
If someone could do this and post a link it would be much appreciated.

please help, this sucks bad!

I confirm, the channel faders delay latency (after 1 year of waiting) is now fixed!!!

This info is now into the Common Device Drivers WIKI http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/index.php/Common_Device_Drivers

@ dhe8dave
Try to reload the firmware and connect only the total control, during my update with M-audio Fast Track PRO audio card connected the firmware procedure was locked.

it's not always called usb speakers
in my case, as i remember, it was usb soundcard or something
do not connect(usb) anything else but the total control
and it should be the only "usb" device showing up in the drop down list

hope this helped

I start to have some problem with this new firmware, sometimes the unit it's not recognize by Virtual DJ.

If I do the manual unistaller procedure of the USB Speaker from my windows XP SP3, I reconnect the unit, windows start to reinstall and after this it work but I don't want to do this operation any time.

Hey Cioce,

Had the same problem since I upgraded firmware - but I only have to quit VDJ, then disconnect / reconnect my DJIO from USB.
When I launch VDJ again, everything works fine.
If you have a DJIO maybe you should try...

I don't really understand the link between NTC firmware upgrade and DJIO, but I am sure I did not have the problem before upgrading the NTC...

Hi , there is no link with the Total Control and the DJio.

I would recommend ensuring you have the latest version of the DJio driver for your computer and ensuring you have no conflicting usb devices.

If you still have issues please contact Numark support directly in your area.

I coming back to old 1.1 Firmware and I will see if whit same M-Audio Fast track PRO Audio Card I have same problem, if no it's logical, the problem is new firmware.

In any case thanks a lot for your support.

Does anyone have the earlier firmware versions available? I'm having trouble keeping my total control 'active.' Everytime I switch it to active and then go into preferences, it unchecks itself. This happens in Traktor 3.2 and LE included with the total control.

Anyone know the issue?
