I am having trouble playing songs. I up loaded all my songs from my Ipod used copy pod to put them in my music file folder now I cant load them up to play in mix.

If the tracks are from iTunes loaded to your iPod then they are most likely DRM protected.

So if the music is proted then Im screwed. Most of that music is from my personal colection that I loaded on to my Ipod, why is it protected. Sorry Im not tech savy. Is there anything I can do.

In very basic terms... For Apple to sell music at the Music Store they struck a deal with record companies to "protect" the music from piracy. So, you can only play their music in iTunes or your iPod. There are some other applications out there that can play Music Store DRM music... but not many.
