Topic: Single Deck vs. Dual Deck Automix

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

i was just wondering if there were any plans to put a dual deck automixing option in future versions of virtual dj? i absolutely love virtual dj, but i don't like the new single deck automix. i have looked through the forums and have seen that many people have requested it, but many "real dj's" bash them. i am not a "real dj" i just play songs, but i paid for the software just like everyone else. I really hope you guys can figure out a way to at least make it an option for guys like me. I know there are other options out there, but i really like your product.
thanks

This topic has been flogged to death. If you have read posts by Cstoll or he might be along soon and tell you himself, that there is no plans to put the "2 deck automix" option back in VirtualDJ.

I really can't see the fuss, with the single deck automix. It still mixes the next track for you, I'm I wrong, No. Why do we need the "2 deck automix" Yes the "one deck" automix is weird to see but actually I think it's a benefit, as it free's up the other deck your're then free to Cue tracks up or listen to other tracks you might want to put in the playlist.

Exactly, nuff said really.

sorry to disagree with you guys but they should have a dual deck auto mix ..........

i think they have 3 main issues to work on

the automix ..... nowhere near as good as Traktor

the general stability ......still needs work

the recordcase ......lotsa features missing

Chuck are you sober ???? I would really like to hear further on your last two statements... the first one.. well my only comment is

... nothing to add, I have educated the masses the best I can... spread the word...

But seriously Chuck the other 2 ?? very interested to hear your comments...

Being the contrarian, I like only one deck for automix. This makes mixing in outside the auto playlist and previewing songs much easier.

For the automix, it would be great if you could listen ahead. This will help determine cue points and determine if the auto mix is OK (kinda like MM).

The record case is fine.

every monday i do a double shift (14 hours ) and every monday at some point it starts getting unreliable..... usually the trax start to load really slow and the song playing almost catches up to the waveform .....sometimes it crashes and the recovery usually does not work .

sometimes a track seems to cause a crash .......i don't have these issues with Traktor; Traktor is still considerably more stable .

Traktor's database doesn't have filter folders , but i still can't give VDJ the lead ...... i'll call it a dead heat , Traktor has some good features in the db that VDJ doesn't have like print it , print the virtual folders , number the queue , etc ........the BPM in both is equally bad

i personally don't like gimmicks so the turntables and cover art seem kinda unprofessional , also a waste of much needed screen real estate

so i use Format's skins ...........
