The allen & heath xone 3d looks nice but is double in price(the best price that I got for it was $2200) plus I have seen couple of their mixers buzzing after club abuse so I got the Pio for $1100,
now I need some help and how to map the midi, maybe somebody will post a tutorial
I wonder if the 800 works well with one of the midi to usb cable adapters?

Ok Birdman, I can help really easily. I'll take the EFX and the cdj's off your hands. Does that help, hehehe. Seriously tho, I use cdj 1000 and djm800 so what do you want to know?

I also use the crossfader of the djm-800 as a video-crossfader.
I use the M-AUDIO UNO . Here is the link.

It works very well.

Ok... I got her by looking for dual midi setups... saw people dreaming of a djm 800 (that's easy to understand) together with either CDJ's or a hc4500. I'd rather have the 4500 because I'm more into controller-dj'ing... from a rack (19" 10U top). On top of that, the hc4500 provides tags with info on my songs from my laptop, and the CDJ-400 doesn't... I guess. So it brings me to the djm800-hc4500 combo.
My question 1: can I use them both (both are natively supported by Virtualdj) together? I was thinking on mapping laptop to channels 3 and 4 and real CD's to 1 and 2 (line out from the BU-4500). On the HC4500 there's a X-fader out, so I could probably "map" that to a Denon X-500.... but not DJM's faders?
My question 2: the source button makes the switch from CD to PC and vice versa. So when mixing 1-3 or 2-4 I'd have control over either the CD or the pc... so mapping some pc controls to the DJM would be nice, not? But can it be done in double? Like note 1 on channel 1 from the controller has the same result in Virtualdj as note5 on channel 6 from the DJM? Or would I get conflicts doing that? Main goal is to be able to control volume and tone on the pc from the mixer when mixing in a CD from the associated channel (should be avoided, i know, but it would have more of the looks of a real 4 channels like I have now with a controller and a separate dual CD, whose controller is built in tilted just below the pc controller... and no: I'm not into buying a Mackie control universal pro plus a C4 Pro extender (for the pots)... ;-))

It's all to bloody complicated configuring a midi controller, mixer and software. There ought to be presets
Posted Thu 02 Apr 09 @ 12:27 pm
yes indeed.... like select general midi, next select general standardised midi controller input/output, and all your controls will work if the controller supports it.... would be nice... ;-))
I have a a 19” amp rack, mixing rack and DJ table, a bit liike the American DJ flex case, but my front panel are two separate panels that can be mounted left and right from the rack. So I could place 2 CDJ's left and right on those "shelfs". Just not sure if that would work nice...

I just bought the djm 800 after my behringer ddm 4000 gave up on me. I really love it, yeah it was pricey but it quality and reliability that will last you for a long time. It's really hard to transition from a crappy mixer to a professional mixer. I'm getting used to it but the sound difference is like two different worlds.

sales are slow and also the tax season in the united states, for most businesses ends in April. Nice amount to write off for tax reasons.

Hi all I see that some of you have your setups with DJM 800 mixer and CDJ's...
I have been working with Virtual DJ for about a year now on the PC with the Behrigner BCD3000, I have now started to upgrade my hardware.... I have now got the following equipment now:-
2 x Pioneer CDJ-1000 MK3 (borrowed from my mate)
1 x Pioneer DJM 800
PC with Virtual DJ installed
I have been having some issues setting it the whole lot up, what I would like to do is use all the 4 channels on the mixer, so 2 from the PC/Virtual DJ for playing mp3 and wav files and the other 2 using CDJ's. So in effect I will be able to mix music from any of the 4 sources...
The first thing I think I need is a suitable sound card that will be able to handle all the channels and also have the ability to record the mix.
I have spent a few weeks trawling the internet and have not got any solid information on how to set this up or if this setup is possible.
Any help from you all would be appreciated.
