Is there any way of assigning this option to a keyboard or via MIDI to a midi controller

That's a great idea. Maybe one of the master mappers can help us out.
 
Yes, that would be awesome, I use VDJ, mix in key to get the BPM's but it's not good enough, some times our ears are better that any soft.
