Enntec Lightfactory, but you have to get the full 512 ch or 1024 channel version, can't wait to see if VDJ's DMX interface is upgraded

I can't see anybody ever needing all 512 channels honestly unless its in a club.

10 lights at 6 channels each is only 60 total if you know what I mean.
Most lights run 4-6 average, even 256 channels is going to work fine.

I recently tried Freestyler http://users.pandora.be/freestylerdmx/ which is free/donation ware.
Couple that up with this dongle and your in for short money.

Some others:
- Sunlite
- Martin lightjockey
- Innovate show control

I prefer Sunlite and freestyler at this moment.

See also this and this post about integration of dmx software in vdj.

@mp3rick, I use moving heads, with 16 channels each, so 8 will use 128 dmx channels, which is already 1/4 of 1 dmx universe. I also use 16 dmx led pars (5 channels each) is also 80 channels. Then some other dimmers, strobo, foggers etc, So my dmx universe is almost full. Already used a dmx led wall once, this used 16 dmx universes (16*512 channels).

I like the new Sunlite dmx boxes. Those have 1 universe in and 1 universe out. You could switch the input dmx to another output universe, so you have 2 dmx outputs. These boxes could also operate without pc using the internal memory.

In this vein, could anyone recommend any DMX controllers for the PC? It appears that they aren't cheap...

Hi, take a look at this website: www.madrix.de

The guys are programming a lighting controller software interface like dj'ing with VDJ. The software is available for windows. MADRIX supports a lot of dmx interfaces. I have seen that they have a audio analyzer inside. So your VDJ music will be analyzed by MADRIX. The result is a snchron light to your music! AMAZING...
