There are four buttons above the playlist (if you are using the normal skin). I only bought my Atomix Virtual DJ from Argos last month, so I haven't had the chance to use it properly yet. They are marked "MUSIC", "SAMPLES", "FX" and "REC" - click on "REC". Before doing that, create a playlist of the songs you want to record. There's an "Automatic Start" , which means it won't start until the first record kicks in - so no "dead air" or missing the start of the first record. You can automix them with Automix - but what's the point of doing that for recording purposes?

Unless that's what you intend to do, be careful not to put FX, samples or scratches in, as it picks those up in the recording. It saves the mix in Windows Media Player - best to name the mix in advance of the recording, as it will display the name of a previous mix and overwrite it. For example, if you've mixed some "thump-thump music" on one mix and country or rock or 70s music on other mixes, it'll look odd. It also displays your mix as a playlist in Atomix, usually with today's date - so you can have those songs as a playlist and use them another time and maybe mix them differently. If you make a mistake, just click Stop - restarting it will simply overwrite it, if you don't rename it.

Hope I was some help. Happy mixing, DJ Double R

if you want to save into mp3 format,

download this file, put it somewhere (in your virtual dj install folder would be easy) and then in the record configuration settings, locate this file as the encoder... typically 192kbps is a high quality bitrate... mess around with it if the files become too large per set/quality is too low

I'm sure that probably u have some mp3 pluggin hidden in your computer. My computer had one that was called " lame_enc.dll " so i picked it up added it in the config menu of my VDJ and we also can choose tha bitrate. After that you are ready to start recording but u have some options like the file name wich u want to record where u want to save it ; if you record all in one file or separated files....
Have fun.
