you burn the downloadable mp3 timcode data to a CD. ANd forget about creative solutions, get a MAYA44USB..

Yes, Maya 44 USB still the best price-quality in the market. But it's discontinued since July 2005 and only remain a few... If you find one, buy it!

I don't know why they discontinued the Maya 44 USB, the substitute is the ESI U46DJ which drivers are not compatible with VDJ..
http://www.esi-pro.com/viewProduct.php?pid=60&page=1

One fellow here (DJ Acadien) buys it, (because he doesn't find the Maya 44 USB) and when he want to use it with VDJ don't work, and find in the manual "it's not compatible with PCDJ's Scratch and Atomix's VirtualDJ"...

http://www.virtualdj.com/forums/41018/General_Discussion/Esi_U46DJ_soundcard_issue.html

Can you believe that?

I hope that esi will fix that, its a shame not to have a good card fo TCV use.

The MAya 44 is only 16bit sound which is a poor quality for using in a Night club is there a card with 24bit sound thats is 100% compatible with Virtual DJ

Well, I heard this is one: The M-Audio Delta 44 http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Delta44-main.html

Or the 410: http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-main.html

Or try this options too:
E-MU 1820M
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=237&subcategory=239&product=9870

For notebook E-MU 1616:
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=237&subcategory=239&product=13554

I think the X-Fi Platinum is a better option than the Delta 44.
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=1&subcategory=208&product=14065
But the Delta is already tested and works good with VDJ, and the other only in theory works since nobody have tested yet. I base my opinion because I have working my TCVs with an Audigy 2 Platinum and X-Fi is much better and have a 44KHz sample rate too (my Audigy 2 only works in 48/96/192 and VDJ today works better in 44KHz sample rate).

Of course this is a total BS statement as 99% of the mp3s people use are 16 bit.

If you want the best and are willing to spend the cash there can be only one: RME HDSP RPM.. it kills anything else I tried soundwise and has truly excellent drivers and tools..

The standard DVD format audio for the video is 224Kbits in 48KHz in 16 bits!.

There are other DVD Audio format (One DVD with only AUDIO traks in it) that is 24Kbits deep and 192KHz sample rate. But are not use so often.

Paulheu I work in a nightclub that holds 2500 people and has one serious system made by EAW called the AVLON speaker system and I can tell you there is a huge difference between 16bit and 24bit cos I have tried both mate

Deadlyd,

If you want a sound card WITHOUT TCVs or TCCDs use, you could get the M-Audio FireWire 410 http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire410-main.html

Or you could use SB Audigy 2 NX, or Indigo sound card... Here there is no restriction (I think). But If you want to use TCVs or TCCDs is another thing.

Unfortunately the only available M-Audio sound cards for notebooks (and the USE of TCVs or TCCDs) is the FW-1814 ($600). http://www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/FireWire1814-main.html

I was searching for an alternative Soundcard for notebooks (and apopsis too; another member of the VDJ Community).

One of the available options are this for $400...
http://us.creative.com/products/product.asp?category=237&subcategory=239&product=13554

Maybe there are others, but almost all of them are above $299.

Another available option is to get a controller (Like BCD-2000 from Behringer (not available today and has been not tested yet with VDJ) that runs with 2 USB internal soundcards and ASIO drivers. I look a Numark mixer with USB soundcards too for $210 but without ASIO drivers...
http://www.numark.com/index.html?http://www.numark.com/products/product_view.php?v=overview&n=132

For the price I think is a better choice for many of us, but again, it not tested yet. This mixer could work with ASIO4ALL drivers, but nobody has tested yet.

Still searching, if any of you found another options please share with us.
