although I wouldn't get my hopes set on a rebirth of the elastic bpm, IMHO this shit is too cognistic and would require major AI. Maybe one thing that would be easier to implement is some kind of an "event recorder" (kinda like a macro): You manually beatmatch your Bohemian Rapsody to a steady beat at XX bpm, and VDJ records your pitch bend + and pitch bend -. Then, you could replay this macro at any YY bpm and VDJ would reperform your pitch bends automatically, adjusting the values to the XX/YY ratio.

Speaking of Bohemian Rhapsody, who besides me has seen on the Skratch DVD where DJ Z-Trip syncs up those two vinyl records that both have escalating tempos at different speeds? That is some flat out straight up beat matching by ear. Amazing. He is riding the pitch slider on each table like his life depends on it, swinging it full in both directions and all! I have a feeling he's practiced those two records but still amazing.
