Clear Browser How ?

Hello all, I opened one of my playlists then wanted to clear the central browser so I selected all the tracks then right click remove, unfortunately this removed all the tracks from the playlist. My question is how do I remove the contents of a playlist from the central browser without removing them from the playlist
