Topic: Virtual DJ not using the soundcard from my controller (other than main device)

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I am trying to setup virtual dj to use my pioneer xdj-aero controller on two machines just in case one breaks down for a gig... my main device recognizes the sound from the xdj-aero but when I try to use another computer it only recognizes the internal soundcard and wont output from the controller... help? (ive tried on multiple other computers... same deal)

Virtual DJ even pops up a message asking me if I want to use the controllers sound card.. I say yes.. and it used the internal from the main computer with no option for the controllers sound card

On the second computer do the following:

1) Connect XDJ-Aero
2) Open Windows Control Panel
3) Click on "Sound" icon to open Windows Sound Properties applet
4) Check if the soundcard of XDJ Aero has any green icon on it. If it does proceed on next steps
5) Right click the laptops internal soundcard and select "Use as default playback device"
6) Right click the laptops internal soundcard and select "Use as default communications device"
7) Open VirtualDj and try again
