Topic: Headphone split

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Using IMac 27, and Pioneer sz controller.

In the audio preferences, the headphone split is "YES" but I still hear both cue and master in both left and right headphone.

Using the Pioneer SX2, the split works fine.

Any ideas as to what I may be doing wrong?

Thats because the SZ has its own "hardware" mixer (VirtualDJ audio configuration has an external mixer audio setup with deck 1, deck 2, etc), so you cant use any software mixer actions (including Headphones) to change its behavior.
In other words, since the SZ itself doesnt offer any SPLIT function, you cant get this.

Are you saying that the pioneer sx2 is not a hardware mixer?

Thanks!

The SX2 uses a VDJ config of master/headphones. The SZ uses an "external mixer" config.

In other words, the SX2 mixer (when the channels are switched to "PC") is controlling the VDJ mixer. The SZ mixer is external.

Thank you both for the information!

Is there any way around this?
