Topic: Advice needed, how to keep 3 pc's in sync?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Here's my problem;
I am using 3 different pc's(2 laptops and a desktop), not all at the same time, I have a laptop at home, a laptop in my studio and a desktop that will one day become my gig pc.
how can I synchronise these all together, so that if I make some changes on one or the other or the other, it will take effect on all of them?
I used to use synctoy 2.1(echo) but it's hard to keep up with all the changes.
I'm not really savvy with computers, so I could need some advice in simple terms.
thx in advance

store music on a usb drive use it with them all :-)

hi wicked
but that means that I would have to carry a hdd around with me all the time and plug it into each pc. I'm looking for a way to keep them all in sync, 'cos sometimes I run 2 at a time at weddings where I have 2 areas etc etc etc
edit
I think i need something like a central base, so that it doesn't matter from where I make the changes, it will be updated on all of my machines

as long as the systems are not connected physically or via somekind of cloud, you will have to plug a device in some way to keep them sync

I just use an external HDD and Synctoy (echo)

Works for me, but I tend to use only one machine for gigs, updating music, database etc. Then echo it to the others.

Thx for the info gentlemen, I'll keep workin on it, gonna try out robocopy next.

The USB Drive can be your master that you sync to each Computer and can also serve as a backup.

not a perfect solution but unless you have a home network to sync the computers over and the know how to do that i think the other option should be pretty simple.

I think your right wicked, up till now I've used synctoy(echo) but it's a one way street and I'm changing things on to many pc's to keep up with it.
thx again
