Topic: Edit Beat GRIDS Tutorial-Video on VDJ8 ... Anybody?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Thanks for all the folks who started to post some YouTube tutorials for VDJ8 : )
Something I would like to see (and probably other users too) is how to Edit Beat GRIDS Tutorial-Video.

I have done this task both with Rekordbox and Serato DJ (quite similar in so many ways) but VDJ's is totally different.

And please don't tell me to read the manual, lol!
Like many other people, visual is more effective to me.

i tried it , it took me 5 minutes to edit a song. is this normal? is there no , "on the go" approach?

It will always depend on how the speed change accross the whole song.
Try something older like:
Billie Jean
Rasputin
Old Time Rock and Roll

You will spend more than 5 minutes on any of these ones for sure.

But if you figured out how all the control buttons work, then it's time to create a video, post it on YouTube and share : )

It shouldn't take 5 minutes to line up beat grid markers on a modern track.

Just place the red line (the anchor) on the first beat then drag the grey shaded parts out so they line up with the waveform peaks.

Check with the metronome (click sound) and it's done.

====================================================================================

Adding extra beat grid anchors for variable BPM is more time consuming. Personally I wouldn't bother.

I'd straighten the track in Ableton Live rather than mess around adding anchors manually.

I have Ableton too.
As I am speaking mostly about my VIDEO TRACKS, I've research a little about this and found out that Ableton's output product after warping a music-video will be split into 2 files where you will need to convert that back into a an MP4 (or similar) format in order to play within your DJ Software.

Are you 100% certain about that? I don't remember Live doing that with any videos I've exported.
