Topic: Intel HD 3000 video on laptops. What works for you folks?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Gang -

I know the official line is - unsupported but don't have the funds for a newer lappy now.

Bought this beast thinking it would be super duper yet find out later it just plain sucks.

So, that being said, is there a better Intel driver that works? Not the original or the latest?

Would using a external codec vs general internal make a difference?

Thoughts? Condolences? :)

Running Windows 7 x64 w/ 8gb DDR3 memory.

Thanks!!!

My 2 Toshiba Laptop with Intel HD 3000 works fine for me. Just use Fix Intel HD graphics 1.0 tool then you should be good to go. I do video sms, text to screen, multiple video plugins without any problem.

This guy saved my new Toshiba ultrabook with Intel HD 4000 from short flight to the wall... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8oQTrDN0wo
In my home version there's just a small video window, but it was lagging a big time. This video helps, now it's smooth as...

I tried that and does seem to behave. But again, it's adequate - not ideal.
