I have it all setup and not everything works can someone tell me y

You need to give more information than that!

Did you set the SX into Normal Midi Mode?
 
the needle strip and the jog wheel light in the middle does not work it ether is on or off it wont follow the music
 
You must switch your unit to "Other than Serato DJ" mode.
Please refer to your DDJ-SX manual in order to do so.
Then it should work!
 
When I look in the book I can't find where it tells me how to set it up for other software
 
It will only scratch when the fader is on the none playing side so when I move it to hear it through the main pa it just lets me pitch
 
First of all reset the mapper back to it's factory defaults.
Second, look at page 26 of your DDJ-SX manual.
 
I don't have one it was a free gift from my boss he does not have it so I am stuck

OK it will let me scratch for a few seconds then it starts to sound line a bend
 
Everything is working great thanks for everyone's help
