Topic: .WAV Sample Issue......

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I downloaded some samples and transferred them to the following file path... my documents - VDJ Folder - Samples - Loops & Hooks (my

created folder within the "Samples" folder.)..... All files are .wav and I tested them all to see the ones I liked in WMP, all played, no

problem.....VDJ fires up, I go to Sampler and click an empty bank, hit "load", I proceed to navigate VDJ Folder to Samples - Loops and Hooks,

go to play new file and loud static is all I get...... Note, two other hooks I recorded in VJD so ,( .vdj file extension) work fine, but these

new .wav files, nothing.......WAV is supported in the sampler, correct?....What gives?.......anyone have a similar issue?......thanks

Yes... I just went through this problem you are having.

They are probably "PCM Windows" WAV files. Convert them to "ACM Waveform" WAVs, and it might fix your issue.

Use this batch program WinFF to convert your files. http://winff.org/html_new/downloads.html

Just load in the contents of your folder with the default preset: "Wav for CD". Choose an output folder. And "Convet".

That should make them all playable. It also fixed a problem I had with a "chirp" at the end of the WAV file playing in a deck. So this program is a winner for fixing 2 of my problems.

Be aware 24 bit studio AIFF files do not play in this version of VDJ. It's the same "white noise" you are hearing with your WAV files. You have to convert them to 16 bit. Also AIFF files do not play in VDJ's Sampler. But they do play great in the decks.

Hopefully Version 8 or 8.01 will fix. My Support ticket is: 183686

Good luck.

Seconded - convert them to 16 bit (i.e. CD standard).
