Hello deers Dj's !
I ask you because I need something to do on VirtualDJ. I don't use any controller, but i create some shortcuts in order to "simulate" a controller with my keyboard. I use the VDJScript in order of this. But i would like to do one thing that i didn't found on the net : I Would Like to record (no save obligatorly, i don't mind of this) a single of 4 or 8 beats that i play with the sampler (with my numpad keyboard), and to play it on a deck with a loop, is anyone able to help me ? Thanks !
(And sorry for my band and poor english, i'm French ! :) )

I'm honestly not sure if you can record into the sampler in vdj home, but I think you can, you just cant save it to reuse after you quit.
if you can, just loop the section you want to record, then press record on your desired sampler.. now just make sure the sample has "loop" "match pitch" & "beatlock" selected and press play.
If you wan't to map it the commands are
deck # loop
sampler # rec
sampler # play ? sampler # stop : sampler # beatlock on & sampler # loop on & sampler # match_pitch on & sampler # play
just change the "#" to the appropriate number.
If I were you i'd make the samplers numbers 1 - 0, and have record something like "ctrl and numbers 1 - 0

Thanks for your answer !
I think i wasn't be clearly, sorry.. I wouldn't like to record a song played by a deck, but a song that i play with the sampler (all the sampler) and play it on the deck, i think the reverse of that you said.

Ah, so you wish to play some samples and record the result so you can play it back on a deck.
Well VDJ (depending on version) has a 'record' option that will record all output, so that should include the sampler.
It won't record straight into a deck though. You'll have to find the recording afterwards and load it yourself.

there would be no easy way of doing that live... you could try using the normal record function, then have a macro to load what you played... You would probably have to have a set bpm that you work with like 128bpm or 140bpm. the reason for this is vdj has a very difficult time determining the bpm on short clips so you would have to set it yourself...
make sure you change the name of the recorded filename eq "sampler_smashing"
map to record
"record"
map to load
deck default load "c://user/user/documents/virtual dj/sampler/sampler_smashing.vdj" & deck default set bpm 140 & deck default goto_first_beat & deck default play_sync_onbeat
****disclaimer - it probably won't work, and again not sure what the capabilities are in vdj home, If you bought "VDJ Pro Basic" you could probably even route the sampler into a different soundcard output, then route the output back into a deck, so you could record it like a microphone, then you would maybe be able to do it live with a track playing ;-)
I expect this to be much easier in VDJ8 due to the timeline editing function, but time will tell.

I am bumping this thread, due to I am trying to do what synthetic responded with.
"deck # loop
sampler # rec
sampler # play ? sampler # stop : sampler # beatlock on & sampler # loop on & sampler # match_pitch on & sampler # play"
are these 3 different mappers? I have not gotten to this advanced mapping yet. Maybe PM me if you're willing to help? Thanks!
