Topic: Vms4.1 Refuses to connect to my pc.

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

Hi, I just picked up the vms4.1 because I was under the impression that everything would be fixed with the .1 from the vms4.
For some reason the4.1 refuses to connect to my pc at all. I have windows 7, VDJ LE that came with the device which is I believe 6.1.1.
I looked into updating the firmware, but since it doesnt connect to the pc in any ports at all, it isnt being read to show up on the list.
It either says "device installation has failed" or "usb device not recognized".

I'm doing my best to slove this so I don't have to wait on a replacement, and I know this is most likely a hardware issue and this forum is mostly software, but I was hoping someone will have solved this issue and be able to help me.
some things to know -
windows 7 desktop pc
amd quad core
4gigs ram
the device is receiving power, back lighting on the knobs are lit
I tried unplugging everything and plugging it back in including the pc and the vms4.

any help is appreciated. :(

this might be off subject but I think you should register your device and software.

If you receive such an error, during firmware upgrade, apparently its hardware related and you should contact with American Audio.

However, it could be related to a Windows limitation. Read more here.. http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/midinotdetected.html

I have the exact same setup and mine connects just fine.

VMS4.1 - no drivers needed... just connect.

Make sure you are using and legit version and the latest version of VDJ.

No, I am using a Mac.
