Topic: Switching DECKS?

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I see a lot of videos with SERATO where for they are say scrathcing a song on the right hand side, then drop it in.. then all of a sudden they press a button and now the song is playing on the right hand side so they can scratch in another song.. sometimes even the time code on the side they switched to inst even playing.

How can we do this on Virtual DJ?

No, he's not talking about skins... He's talking about "clone"
Yeap, that's what you need!
Just map a button with the following VDJ command: "clone" also you can take it a step further if you wish and map the same button as:
"clone & stop & unload"

Looks like the 4 deck SWAP SKIN is sort of what I want BUT it only swaps between the top and bottom deck on each side and I use a 2 channel mixer.. also when I create a key for CLONE , STOP and UNLOAD, I her a CLICK when it switched decks.. do I need to have timecode running in order for this to work?

Also, is there any easy way using the default 4 deck skin to set a key to tell it which deck on each side get the time code? so for instance, I could run top deck on time code, then press a key, song keeps playing but time code is now on bottom deck?
 
One more thing.. I noticed the 4 deck SWAP SKIN is missing the time code buttons...

how do I get them back?
