I can't test this immediately... my clipbanks have become unstable. When I went to re-install & reload the 5 main clipbanks that I am trying to assign shortcuts to, I cannot because it appears VDJ version 7 doesn't allow more than one installed clipbank. Here's the post:

I may have to re-install version 5.xx to get this to work.

You can switch too use another starting clipbank through the config video tab, at the bottom option for effects on audio, choose a clipbank and that will become your semi default... But I don't know if the shortcut will work with this, one thing you can try is click anywhere on the skin first after changing the clipbank and see if this will work the shortcuts, I know this is still a problem with the clipbank randomizing plugin...because it won't work...
One more thought, if you define the shortcut using the clipbank name first, maybe try the clip #?, if that doesn't work then you'll have to make a set of shortcuts for each bank you want to control...
Good Luck,
Joey....

Is there a way to manually load each clipbank? If there is, you could use something like
buttons (essentially loading your clipbanks with your selected videos)
clipbank 1 load "C://filepath/to/video1.flv" & clipbank 2 load "C://filepath/to/video2.flv" & clipbank 3 load "C://filepath/to/video3.flv" & etc..

You have 99 decks. Isnt the clipbank kinda redundant now?

I have a unique application I'm doing.

Just wondering if you could load the clip you want to a deck instead of a clipbank and make that deck video active to achieve the same thing?

The problem with the Deck idea is you need the clip to render as a video backdrop with no sound too accompany the playing audio, I mean you can if you like all that work...

I'm almost sure you can make the deck video_active and have another deck still providing the audio. I am doing a similar thing. You might have to mess around a little with the left right thing is all.
What I mean is the active deck is not necessarily the video_active deck and vice versa.

I've explained this before... I need instant access to about 40 different short clips.
Here's an example... I say "Everybody scream" into the microphone. My VJ assistant mixing video sources hits the F1 key, and within a quarter second, the screen shows a beautiful graphic that says "EVERYBODY SCREAM". If my assistant has to find the file without seeing the thumbnail, then load it, then hit play, it's just too much work and the moment is gone.
Clipbank would be perfect if it worked.

@synthet1c
If you're talking about the clips in a bank, not sure, but a clipbank could in effect be loaded as a default from the Config. video tap to play, and change there if you need too, just not sure if your created shortcuts will work, chances are they will not...so you'll have to change each clip manually....
The only way I had any success with changing and getting it to work properly was to name a folder for example "Reggae" populate a new clipbank with reggae clips, once done Move the clipbank, dll ,ini and bmp files to the reggae folder, do the same for "Latin" and so on, Not changing the default name of the "ClipBank" each time I create a new one, but putting each set I've created into a new "Named" folder so I know what type of clips they contain....this will work as expected...
The only problem with this is you will have to shut down VDJ first, then copy the three files from your lets say "Reggae" folder into your "Video Effects" folder and overwrite any existing clipbank files in the effects folder in order for this to work....then restart VDJ.....

Just had a quick play with this using decks 5 and 6 and seems to work pretty well. You might need to enable 6 decks in the skin xml first.
This is in its most simplistic form but might be worth a try and seems to work fine without upsetting the other decks.
You could make it only go when you hold the key down and then switch back to whatever video deck you were using prior.
I've also found the video fx section to be less stable than decks when trying to do lots of things at once, plus the video_fx_clear creates its own set of issues if you use text to screen or other fx you want to keep running.
device_side left ? deck 5 leftvideo & deck 5 load 'c:\samples\whatever.mp4' & deck 5 play : device_side right ? deck 6 rightvideo & deck 6 load 'c:\samples\whatever.mp4' & deck 6 play.
You could also save ten clips as one big clip and use the hot cues to access which would be faster for loading.
Sorry to jump in but the clipbank thing was looking messier and messier - might not be what you need but just trying to help ;)

Thanks for all the input guys.
Honestly, this whole discussion is meaningless if the ability to duplicate and rename clipbank DLL's has been eliminated in VDJ 7. It's ashame... such a powerful feature. It worked beautifully in version 5 - as long as you did not select more than one at a time.
I think I will just revert back to version 5 for this application. I am still using version 7 for my normal DJ use on another laptop.
