Topic: Does MP3 gain mess up VDJ autogain. Help

This topic is old and might contain outdated or incorrect information.

I had an MP3 that needed an audio boost but noticed that the gain on VDJ did not allow an increase. The gain knob was maxed to the right and set at 0 gain. I am finding that most of my MP3 s are only a small increase in an increase in gain. I do scan with MP3 gain.

Can i fix this so i have a gain of 0 at the center so I can adjust either way to the right or left?. All my gain levels are different for songs. Some allow a + 7 increase in sound. It is all over the place.

Please check your individual gains on several songs and see if you have the same problem.

If you have ran MP3 gain on files after they have been initially scanned by VDJ then this will affect the output.

You need to rescan them in VDJ using the scan for BPM command in right click and VDJ will reanalyse the volume and adjust accordingly.

There is actually no need to use the gain adjust in VDJ if you are also using MP3 gain, so this can me turned off in the config.

No I run MP3 scan before VDJ. Also I don t run MP3 on videos and I have the same problem there.

Something is not right. I have auto gain + remember. I should have more + to adjust in the gain.

I don't think the BPM Re-anlyze affects the gain.

Does anyone else have a problem with the gain be maxed on individual songs? Check your songs and see if you can raise the volume.
