I bought a new computer the other day and downloaded vdj and effects. When I downloaded "filters_texzk.zip" Norton popped up and said it was a trojan horse and quarantined it. I did a complete scan this morning and it has now completely deleted it. Please check this out teamers so nobody gets a virus downloading from your site. Many DJs don't have an anti virus utility on their DJ comp/lappy.

I think Norton is just being over protective because many auto generated executables have random file names like the name of the plugin. Try renaming it to something normal and see what happens.

I second that.

get rid of notron, period... norton is one of the worst AV's ever.. its been prooven on many ocasions and i personally have been handed lots of pc's/laptops that run norton that have been full to the brim with viruses. norton doesnt remove threats, it stores them in a quarentine and waits fotr you to remove them. it doesnt handle rootkits or back door droppers. and is basically poop.
i say avira and malwarebytes together are the best combo to use. waayyy better than norton, mcaffee, agv and avast alog with better than kaspersky. all of these other av systems i tried oncce when i got a major rootkit virus and it shut down all the above AV's and their scanning apps. the only software thet fixed it was avira. anything avira doesnt handle like malware spyware and adware, are all handled with malwarebytes.
the very best combo in my opinion. try them theyre free or theres a premium version. i guarentee they both find something hidden soomewhere.
oh and i never get false results.

Agree 100%... just taking advantage of the 60 day free trial. Eventually this laptop will not be connected to the net once I have everything I need. It's going to replace another DJ laptop going into retirement. I bought a very powerful machine but I need to wait until VDJ either has a video fix or goes 64 bit. I will be using it with an NS-7 for video and karaoke.
