Same problem here, Hercules RMX is not working with El Capitan, I guess it´s a driver problem

Actually, if the controller is not detected properly to start with by OS X, the drivers will not be able to do his job.
You've tried using a powered USB hub and/or different or shorter USB cable, as mentioned previously ?
