Hello guys, i'm back :)
Well.. let me post something and the only thing i'm missing in VDJ.
I really, really would like to see at least 6 effects loaded at the same time. I use effects all the time and it is hardly to choosing different effects everytime i need them.
Let say that i'm going to use 4 effects in 1 song, so i have to replace one effect with another during the song. Because i usually don't use mouse it is difficult to find right effect and load it on one hand, and think how to mix next song into present on other hand.
Just 3 windows more for effects please :)

One i think more simple request is the option of different broadcasting "profiles".... for instance i play at several webradios and need to enter their broadcast server infos/logins everytime i play on a different station... this is a sad process to go through each time.
So to be able to load different profiles into the rec/broadcast would be nice to use broadcast profiles or something like that if its possible. :-)

hello vdj team i would like to developp in the next vdj that we can record a mix video in whatever format vob dvix avi etc.... and vdj come with burner software to burn the mix video on cd or dvd

I know there are many useres, that would like to get the ability to change tempo/key independently in real time; as a new feature, with good quality, not as a vst ! I read some things about the algorithms, that are avaiable: for very good quality (but higher cpu usage) -> phase vocoder;
for good quality -> psola. maybe to itegrate both algos, but then have the ablity to select witch you want, according to your cpu abilities. Thanks. that would also improove the (sorry for that word) poor timestrech quality, virtual dj has now. or go over to two separate lines of virtual dj, one specialised on video mixing (virtual vj?) one on music mixing (virtual dj).

I agree with djsubnautic. I would like to see music part of VDJ separate, so we can choose which program to use.

I would like a feature to prelisten and do the main mix, with an external controller, without having to remove the headphones, to elaborate; While deck A is playing I hear it in the headphones and cue up deck B using the headphone volume control. Dropping the headphone volume control you will continue to hear deck A then moving the crossfader across to deck B and hearing the main mix, all without having to remove the headphones. I was able to do this using a 5.1 soundcard but only through the headphone output (it cut output to the main speakers). This would really help as hearing the mix on the headphone and then removing it to hear the main mix is a real drag. The othe configurations, headphone split, deck A only, deck B only, just don't allow you to make perfect synchronised mixes it is either hit or miss.

Assigning Numbers/Characters To the file.
this would work this way...
instead of typing out the name of the song in the browse window, the user would make the combination characters/numbers of the file and it loads up to in a deck. (kind of like a Mortal Kombat finish move lol).
with this feature, while vdj scans the hard drive for audio files it assigns a [short] unique number to the file. or allow the user to assign the number/character that they'd want.
i think this process of loading songs is faster than typing a song, using the mouse/keyboard shortcut to load the song.
the current fastest i'd found to load any song is 'global database' shortcut>type unique characters of the file>hit enter>down arrow>keyboard shortcut to load song>play song
with this feature im requesting
for example (say the numbers are only accessible thru the Num Keys):
hold Ctr+Atl+ Num key combinations 254, and the file loads to the deck.
or Ctrl+Atl+ SHIFT loads and plays the song. 1 or 2 step process.
any faster way to load a file?

if the cue point is within a loop, 'going to the cue point x' not to affect the loop.
program as is exits looping if u Go To Cue point, even if its within the loop.
its ok to exit loop if the cue point is outside the current loop.

Some might ask what would be the relevance of this feature since the decks are already ON when we open the program.
Thought of this feature for this effect: If one turns off the deck while its playing and pulls it back, it plays reverse from then on till the deck comes to a stop. Like it would on a real turntable.
*this feature gives the program a more real feel.
*The user doesn’t have to turn the deck(s) ON after opening the program. The program starts with both decks ON.
*Once the deck comes to a complete stop, PLAY could turn it on. Instant on or adjustable to whatever.
*one deck can be shut OFF and the other plays playlists. maybe this could help reduce resources.
*dragging a song to the OFF deck turns it ON. using keyboard shortcuts does the same too.
* I don’t think there’s a current plug-in that gives a similar turn off-reverse play-effect. Even if there is this feature could free up a plug-in slot.

i was the inventor of the clone_deck feature so u chew on that. lol i dont even get to enjoy some of these features i come up with.
i dont even have a computer at the moment. its been 2 months since i played with VDJ. i type all this from a public library. look at the times of my posts. trace the ip.
even if the dev company gave me a free download for my contribution which brings in millions of users and generates a lot of money for vdj ;-)... there's no way for me to download it. lol

Clone deck was originally a Serato Scratch feature and was requested by a number of users..
Another feature request: Support for multiple databases (in software) and the ability to rename them as you please.
For example if there are 5 VDJ users gigging at the same club they would only want to use one PC/Laptop and they would need to mix in from where the last DJ left off.., of course each DJ would have his own music collection, which he'd bring on an external HD (usb), what if that DJ's database file was on that HD too?, so that when the new HD is connected you can ask VDJ to "add new database" and VDJ will let you browse for a another database entry, the database you select will appear under the current one (and this is where it would be useful to be able to rename, for the purpose of identification).
Once that is in place you only have to locate the music from the drive and your up and running, this means it would only take about 30 seconds for each DJ to switch over when using the same PC.
A very good feature if you desire VDJ to be installed in clubs where many DJ's will come and go, additionally it would be good for when VDJ users come together to do gigs or even home parties.

I would like it if there were a setting on each deck(independently) for it to be either time stretch or "disable" and there to be an option to have it be time stretch if the song its sped up and "disabled" if slowed down, that way you could slow a song down a few bpms while using time strectch without getting that weird disjointed effect . It also might be interesting to see what a song sounds like if it's a combination of time stretch and pitch change (disable) as this might give you the greatest range of bpm without distortion or it sounding weird.
If i were able to do this i could mix a greater variety of songs and a greater variety of BPM's
