OK, so I want to learn how this feature works, but can't find ANY info on it. I went to read the manual and, nope. Nothing there. Did a search and the usual unuseful results are returned. (I really wish that would be revised.)
I know DMX and how to use/assign the fixtures, just not how VDJ can control them.

Thanks for the reply Tayla, but I read that and it doesn't say anything about how the DMX in VDJ works. I have Sunlight, but want to know how VDJ's DMX software works. Is there or is there not a manual on it?

Is that the USB - DMX dongle that comes with Sunlight 2006? If yes, I have that...

No the siudi box is a box sold by Sunlite for developping your own software of for resellers. See their website for more info. It might use the same driver as your Sunlite box, so you could try it. Comparing to Sunlite, the implementation in VDJ is very limited. You could progarm some dimmer channels and a strobe channel, but for what I have tried no support for advanced fixtures like moving head scanners etc.

Thank you for the replys.
I own Sunlight 2006 as well as Chauvet ShowExpress. I just learned that ShowExpress will allow you to program lighting and actually import video to the show, allowing you to output audio, video, and light programming from one software. Just thought it would be REALLY nice if VDJ did that, then remembered the DMX button so looked into it again.

I played with the dmx a little...never connected my doggle or hardware. there are no instructions for how to use it...that I have been able to find anyway. From the looks of it it would be a pain in the ass to use. you'd have a floating box to move around while you're mixing and it's probably only best used with a simple light setup. Like color changers or something.
I'd like to have dmx and playback on the same pc, and have tried it, but flipping between the screens was a pain. It's much easier to have a 2nd laptop just running dmx.
