Forum: General Discussion - Topic: NUMARK C3USB 5 CHANNEL MIXER

I am running VDJ Pro and am trying to connect it to my Numark C3USB mixer via USB. I am having troubles with the output and am not recieving any audio signal, I have tried numerous of times to contact Numark leaving messages but they have been unresponsive to my phone calls. Is this mixer even compatible? If so what do I need to do to get sound via usb?

You need to choose the following:

Inputs: None
Outputs : external mixer
Card : 2 cards
Card 1 : usb codec
Card 2 : usb codec 2

This will set this mixer up, it is compatible with any software which supports dual soundcards.

I'm having exactly the same problem with my C3USB, but I don't see the option for External Mixer under the outputs tab. I'm using the version of Numark Cue that shipped with my DMC2 controller. Help?

thnxs, It works and sounds great. Another question I have is my ability to cue up songs, I am using the skin "MIX STATION SV 04 TITANIUM V4.2" How can I play one track while cueing up the other. Will I be able to cue from the C3USB headphone output? Are there any settings I need to know for this?

That would be a hardware cue on the mixer , load the track up on B (assuming A is playing) and use the mixers cue facility.

Can you use this mixer with Timecodes? In other words, can I have this and my 4/4 sound card at the same time?

OMG, Skyfxl, it's good to see you, I thought you had defected from us here at VDJ.

Seriously now, are you guys with the C3USB running a controller with the mixer or not?

I have done this, but I lost my video controls. It keeps telling me to upgrade to the full version or whatever. Since I also do karaoke gigs from time to time (prefer DJing, its better on my eardrums, lol) I need the video controls. Is there anyway I can do this without getting the full Cue 5 version (ballin' on a budget I guess you could say and can't really afford it). Thanks in advance for the help.

I JUST BOUGHT THE NUMARK C3USB AND I'M TRYING TO RUN IT WITH VIRTUAL DJ 6 BUT I DONT KNOW HOW TO INSTALL IT...

plug USB cable #1 into the "USB A" input on the mixer, plug usb cable #2 into the "USB B" input on the mixer, turn on the mixer, turn on your computer. Windows should automatically find the sound cards and install them. Once installed open VDJ and go to your sound settings tab in VDJ Config. Select external mixer and for the sound card select the numark mixer icon (it will show a battle style mixer not the c3 but the soundcard is the same). For some reason some versions of VDJ will not show the icon, if this is the case select the option for 2 soundcards. In the dropdowns for soundcard 1 select the "USB Codec" and for soundcard 2 select the "USB Codec 2"......it may say something slightly different but it will be pretty obvious which ones to use. You should be good to go.

I just bought the C3 on Sunday, followed your instructions posted earlier on the thread and it worked like a charm. I am using a Hercules Mp3 E2 for a controller, but I needed a mixer with 5 channels for 2 addtl Numark Axis 9s and a dvd player.
I bought the C3 Sunday morning and in less than 10 minutes I was up and running. I was very impressed with the sound and with all the features this mixer packs in.
Thank you for all your posts, it really made setting up my C3 a breeze.

help pleeassseeee....im having a gig this saturday and its already thursday and i dont just want to use an auxiliary cable for the music to my laptop(macbook)..., which free/unfree dj software do, or can i download if I'm using a c3 usb mixer so that both audio codec signals can show...and then later maybe buy and connect a dmc2 controller to it???? for macbook not pc!!!

I worked for Numark for a year and it is not that they are hard to get in contact with. Tech support hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm EST that's right they are based in Rhode Island on the East Coast.... Do not leave messages. Try and call during these hours since when I worked there I personally never had any time to call anyone back as much as I wanted to cause I was also doing Alesis support at the same time... Other option is to email... Email is alot fast cause the we had to be at work for 7:30 so we would send emails 1st thing... That could have changed since 2003... I'll be honest and say they are one of the best company's around along with Alesis. I got to try out the TTX in house before it was launched and I was like my god if they can do that they can do anything and they have over the years....
