Hi all,
I am using Virtual DJ 5 and Numark Cue (came with my Total Control console). I have some strange problem between the databases of the two programs.
I usually write my comments about a track (how good it is, what genre it is etc.) with virtual dj's track info editor. But when I change the ID3 comment already present in the tune, it is written in the Virtual DJ's XML database. Now, I have about 4000 tunes already marked in this way, so I don't have the time to do it all again. Is there a way to transfer all database comments to the ID3 tags of the tunes?
Numark Cue doesn't read my Virtual DJ's database (it did some time ago, don't know what happened), and reading the ID3 tags with the info I wrote in Virtual DJ's track info editor would be great!
If this is not possible, can you point me some solution to transfer those comments beside Virtual DJ (a program that I can instruct to read the database and transfer the comments to the tune's ID3 tags?).
Thank you,
Andrej

check the forums, but i think its just a matter where they are stored. Might be one of the .ini files. I could of sworn that someone had the same issue while back and it was a matter of creating a folder and copying a file there. You may check on Numarks site.

They are stored in a XML file called Virtual DJ Database.xml (or something like that) and I can open that file and view it with notepad. It obviously has all the info about all the tunes ever :D
So I want to know how to transfer that info to my mp3 files.

you could try this, but as jakovski says you try it at your own risk....

Hallo,
there are two opportunities to transfer the data from the XML into the ID-Tags. There is a tool available in the database area, which copies the info from the VDJ database into the ID3 tags. For some reason it got stuck from time to time.
Therefore I am using a xml2csv converter, which allows me to control which tags from the XML file shall be transfered into the csv. Once you have a csv, mp3tagstudio seems to be the best choice to get data transferred from any type of csv file into the ID3 tags.
Hope that helps.
