Over pioneer? are you serious? just plug them to studio monitors like yamaha 80 and tell me again if you prefer it :) Maybe because of midi, but not for anything else (even look, sry, 600 is still the legend).
the sound quality from a djm 500/600 is as good/worse as from a ddm 4000, so the behringer has a plus because it´s midi functions and programmable frequency range.
the pioneers 500/600 are no legends, they are only the result of a good marketing. the sound quality compared with a high grade rane/ecler/A&H end even vestax is really crap, the frequencing of the eq´s - crap, the faders - crap, the effects - crap. so there is no reason for beeing a legend for the djm 500/600 series.
its horrible that some people think the djm 500/600 series is state of the art, thats simply wrong.

Pioneer 600 mixers are not legends out of soundquality. Although the soundquality is by far good enough for any club (that usually has crap PA speakers anyways).
Reason 600 is a legend is that it "never breaks"... Its built to last and last.... and last... Its a rock solid investment, compared to other mixers that break and needs to be replaced.
Thats why so many DJs and clubs invest in Pioneer equipment. Its made solid.
That being said , it also has high sound outputs, and quality DAC, so on huge speaker systems, many mixers will fail bad, compared to the Pioneer ones.
But Rane, Vestax and others make good mixers too ;)

i can´t agree t 100%. i had a lot of djm´s under my fingers. crossfader and linefader "mixed-up", eq knobs instable, cue knobs i had to press 5x to get tor work, led´s not propper working,...
ok, the layout is perfect for a clubmixer but what else?
just the name, pioneer, they built the best cd-players and because the djm was one of the first compact club mixers with efx and perfect measures between 2 1200´s or 2 cdj 500. thats all. not more, not less.
for the built quality, sound quality and featrues the djm 500/600 series is totaly overpriced.

pioneer equipment is undoubtedly pricey but also generally regarded as the real thing and rugged .....
were these units yours ?? if so you need to get them serviced
if not , if these are units at a club maybe the hard use and lack of maintenance was a factor....
i think Norway knows what 'es talking about ... all opinions are not equal ... there are opinions , expert opinions and of course
......best of all ,Chuck's opinions ....
