Since Dec 31th 2010 I bought a Denon MC 6000 .

The MC6000 replace:
- Vestax VC 100 Midi controller
- NI Audio 4 DJ audio interface
- JBSystems Beat 6 mk 2 5 channels mixer

I have now three cases + Laptop bag for all my dj desk. Instead of four cases and laptop case in the past. Here is my previous set:

I just bought a Vestax VCI 100 controller. It's a pure magic machine. Very close to CDJ behavior in term of slider, rotary touch or Jog sensitivity.
The best controller I tested until now. With VDJ 6 & my NI Audio 4 DJ sound card, the best set-up I would have dream since I started the computer mix (since 2002 on eJay Atomix V1...). Who doesn't want to invest in a separate sound card, I think you can go on the VCI 300 with integrated sound card.

But I found some lack in the out of the shelf mapper. I made the following changes:

LOAD B :: browser_window "songs" ? deck 2 load : browser_folder

With this setting if the focus in on folder browser it open or close the subfolder; If it is et on song folder, it load the song on desk B. With this approach, we provide navigation thru or from sub folders.

NUDGE+ :: nudge +30ms -- I increase the hop of nudge from 10ms to 30ms. I feel this closer of CDJ setting

NUDGE- :: nudge -30ms -- I decrease the hop of nudge from -10ms to -30ms. I feel this closer of CDJ setting

Now I will improve the effect & loop mapping to have the perfect control I dream since many year. I'll post my improvements here.

I made some changes to my studio:

1/ Use Motu 828 only for studi (avoid to bring it for live or mix sessions)
2/ Acquired a NI Audio 4 DJ sound card for mix and live performances
3/ Reuse my old (5 years ... and still ok) BCD 2000 just as MIDI controller for VDJ
4/ Use my Edirol PCR 300 as MIDI controller for Ableton live and Cubase / Halion
5/ Acquired a Yamaha MG 16/4 mixer for the studio.

The following picture shows how I have wired my Motu 828 mk2 to my VDJ Set-Up:



- Pioneer CDJ 800 # 1 is plugged to Motu Input 1 & 2
- Pioneer CDJ 800 # 2 is plugged to Motu Input 3 & 4
- Motu Main Outs are pluged to Mixer CD input 4
- Motu Outputs 1 & 2 are pluged to Mixer CD input 1
- Main Mixer Outs are plugged to my KRK Actives Monitors
- Rec Mixer Outs are wired into Motu Input 7 & 8 (to allows to record a Mix using the sound card and Audacity Open Source software)

The Motu Mixing Console is set-up as follow:



The 1st Bus Output are set to Main Out



The 2nd But Output are set to Out 1 & 1

If you want to record you mixes from your Motu card using Audacity open source softwarre, ypou have to set-up your Motu card as follow:



Check the option \\\\\\\"Enable Full Wave support for legacy (MME) software (Less Efficient).
As it is explained, it\\\\\\\'s less efficient, but it\\\\\\\'s the only way I found to have Audacity to recognize my Motu Input:

Set-up in Smart Mode, Check clear sound option, and follow the gain and silence slider value.

With this Set-up on Windows XP SP3, VDJ 5.2 you should have a super set-up for you Time code CD.
