 Mac Clean Re-install

To perform a clean re-install::

  • Make a backup copy of the folder /users/YOURNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ or /users/YOURNAME/Library/VirtualDJ for new installations of VirtualDJ v7.0.3 or above - In particular, you may wish to keep your VirtualDJ database which contains your cue points, BPM, comments, etc.

    NOTE: If you cannot find or access the Library folder, please see: Reveal hidden Library folder

  • Delete all VirtualDJ icons from Applications.

  • Delete the /Users/YOURNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ folder, if it exists.

  • Delete the /Users/YOURNAME/Library/VirtualDJ folder, if it exists.

  • Delete the following file: MacintoshHD -> /Users/YOURNAME/Library/Preferences/com.atomixproductions.virtualdj.plist

  • Delete all VirtualDJ desktop or dock shortcuts.

  • Delete all VirtualDJ icons from Applications.

  • Restart your computer.

  • Make sure that you are logged in as the user who you will be running VirtualDJ as.

  • Download the latest version of VirtualDJ or the latest VirtualDJ Home FREE.

  • Install the software using the above file that you downloaded.

  • If applicable, copy your VirtualDJ database file (VirtualDJ Database v6.xml) back to /Users/YOURNAME/Documents/VirtualDJ or /users/YOURNAME/Library/VirtualDJ for new installations of VirtualDJ v7.0.3 or above.
