Seems to briefly described as a feature, but no information of this feature is included in the manual. I like the idea of controlling all aspects of my show from one unit, being VDJ. Video/Lights/Music. What are the full capabilities of the DMX feature, and how do you go about using it? Also what hardware would be required?

Heh... I've been asking that for 2 years, and still haven't gotten an answer...
Good luck... I'll be watching this closely, as I also really want to know..

simply
V5.05 pc
supports the usb DMX (SUIDI) interface from sunlight,
it allows you to use multiple channels and to create programs to use them
basicly you need to enable this device on remote options
then there are two menus
one for your lighting channels and one to create lighting states and programs
i will make you some screenshot explanations with more details
tomorrow morning :)

Is that the Only usb device that is supported?
Just curious Cause I don;t know how easy that would be to get a hold of on this side of the pond.

I've been looking for the DMX protocol in VDJ also.
It would be nice to have a little bit control over the lights. If there is a big show i'll take a light jockey, but the smaller gigs, i now have to control from behind two desks.
Maybe something to update for version 6 :-)

Program list:
Colours : these are used to create washes of coloured lighting
Flash : flashes all the lights slowly
Strobe : flashes strobe FX lights
Move : allows you to use basic moving head lighting and scanners
Black : Terminates all lighting
All Lighting States and Effects are trigerable by keyboard or controler shortcuts

Will it take any extra ram to run the lighting. So if you have 1g bump it to 2g.

Good to know that I'm not the only one interested in this. DMX is the only thing that keeps me interested in VDJ now, since other software will be doing the video thing shortly. My only hope is that once I invest in this system, that the DMX features will be continually updated, and improved. I see a lot of potential with the way VDJ handles music, and video, now it's time to bring DMX up to snuff.

OKay.
After much surfing and phone calls I found a retailer that can get a hold of sunlight lighting porducts in Canada.
Now
My Question is.......
Do I only require the USB dongle/intreface device and drivers?
In other words , which of they're products..SPECIFCALLY should I look into getting.?
http://www.nicolaudie.com/main.php?id_page=3
Should I get JUST the box? - or the standalone easy usb kit?
I'll be using it to controll LED lighting for aprox 300 people in mobile party situations.

I'm asking what I need to use the internal control.
Do I need the box or the box and software?
I have access to Martin Lightjocky for bigger shows.
For average weddings and dances the intrnal looks sufficent.
What EXACTLY does vdj need to access the dmx control?
