Hello there happy new year!
I was wondering if a configuration like the following could work with VDJ.
2 turntables
2 DVS VirtualDJ vinyls
1 mixer (supported by VirtualDJ)
1 DDJ-XP2
VirtualDJ
Basically I would like to use turntables but control my mixing with DDJ-XP2 using the turntables just as CDJ jogwheels.
Do i need additional hardware?
Thanks for any help you could provide!

Yep that's all you need.
You can replace "Mixer Supported by VirtualDJ" with any soundcard with enough inputs with decent phono preamps that VirtualDJ can recognize/use (which is normally what these mixers contain internally).
More detailed info in the Timecode section of the User Manual.

Does anyone know where I can buy dvs vinyls for VirtualDJ?
If I click on Virtualdj.com it leads me to Amazon us, but I live in Italy.
Tried to Google it up and only Serato or Pioneer timecoded vinyls appear.

Yep it allows you to incorporate actual Vinyl too if you want.
For more mixers with a full section of MIDI pads incorporated, the DDJ-XP2 is probably not needed, but if you are using a mixer without such (like DJM club mixers), or a purely analog mixer + DVS soundcard interface, it will be worth it to carry that with you 🍺.

Yes I bought DDJ-XP2 because most of the clubs have mixers without pads and CDJs...
Any hints about where to buy VDJ timecoded vinyls as ny previous question?🙏🏾

VirtualDJ pretty much works well with Serato and Traktor Vinyl, in addition to VirtualDJ.
I really wish they put out more color options for VirtualDJ vinyl as I would readily support, but you can't go wrong with Serato vinyl.

it leeds to the main Amazon site. You can order from there and will be shipped to you without import duties.(normally they use european warehouse)
I live in Greece and i tried to place an order right now..
If on the other hand want want a pair of any other vinyl as dj vinyltouch already proposed, you may use traktor or serato ones

Ok but if I find a DJM-900NXS2 (for istance) I just need to connect it via USB and Im done...right?
The sound card would be necessary / mandatory if I am gonna use an analog mixer with no usb right (meaning no audio card inside)?
Are there any rotary mixers with an audio card on them?
Sorry for those dumb questions, but I never cared what's inside a mixer because I always used CDJs or Controllers...

Another one... I told you I will use turntables as CDJS jog wheel so no scratching....I will use them to adjust the tempo while mixing if needed.
A 12" records lenght is something like 15 minutes of playing.
This would be my mixing routine
1) Deck A: Needle on the physical beginning of the timecoded vinyl
2) Deck A: I play for 3 mins a song
3) Deck B: Needle on the physical beginning of the timecoded vinyl I prepare the next song
4) I mix
5) Deck B: I play the song for 3 mins
6) Deck A: I prepare the next song
7) I mix
8) Deck A: I play the song for 3 mins
And so on...
In this scenario (assuming I am not touching the turntable needle) the needle physical position on deck A would be at 9 minutes more or less.
I have to reposition the needle every 15 mins (total lenght of the 12" vinyl)?

Yes, the newer DJM club mixers normally have a soundcard inside them (and the DJM-900NXS2 definitely does).
Check out the Virtual Hardware page if you are looking and are not sure of what is support in that way or not.

I admit I am not well versed in rotary mixers. I think at least one newer one does ([url=https://www.rane.com/mp2015/]Rane MP2015]), but they mostly tend to be on the pure analog side and focus on sound quality there + giving rotary control of things (some DJs like that more).

So yes, timecode records give a certain amount of playback time per side, and normally there is a side that gives longer playtime (like side B on Serato timecode vinyl gives 15 minutes). In addition to this, the timecode processing mode determines how that gets applied to manipulation of a track in the deck. Most people use a "Relative mode" (playback continues from where it left off, regardless of the needle position of the record (relative to the dropped needle position)), and there are extra places that may have special meaning to the processing - e.g. the lead-in section causing a song to restart, the lead-out section causing VirtualDJ to switch to internal mode for VirtualDJ vinyl. Normally the lead out section allows playback indefinitely with a loop (Serato loops indefinitely with no internal mode switch in VDJ, VDJ has the switch with the loop I believe), so the needle wouldn't run off the record/stop processing, but people normally move the needle back into the larger part of the record to resume tactile control of the song from the turntable.
So the playback time with the lead-out is probably unlimited, but the actual manipulatable time is probably the marked playtime - the lead-in time. Given you don't scratch, that probably only matters if you are going to set cuepoints while playing (you want control from the turntable to do that). If you'll have all that pre-setup, it might not matter as much once you skip the lead-in.

Perfect and thorough explanation...thanks....
Lastly... I read something around and it seems in order for dvs to work properly, the turntables must use needles / cartridges with the following specifications:
stylus spherical
marketed for DJ use
Tracking force ≥ 3 g
Output ≥ 6 mV
Are they correct? Should i buy a couple of cartridges to bring along with me?

That restriction is incorrect.
- The tracking force weight is recommended by the manufacturer for best tracking with the catridge on a record for general playback quality, and really has nothing to do with DVS processing directly
- The output voltage gets amplified to the right level required by the Phono Preamps built into the inputs on the mixer
You don't have to worry about that given you can calibrate and see the scopes properly in the Timecode tab
